How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewAwesome experience. The tents were a great experience and they were right in the middle of the desert in the midst of pristine sand dunes. We did the camel ride and the dune bashing - both of which were excellent experiences. Kids loved playing on the dunes. The evening entertainment besides the fire with local artists was very unique and enjoyable. They kept on serving snacks and kababs by the fire. Drinks were also available on a payment basis. Food was local and good. Unique and memorable were experience. Slightly pricey but worth it

Verified reviewI stayed for two days in a tent house, it was a marvelous experience which I couldn't share in words. Each and every staff member there was very helpful, polite and well behaved. The food was delicious starting from breakfast to dinner, specially the snacks which were served during the cultural evening. In the evening they organise cultural programs including local songs and dance. The performing group was superb. We were a group of eighteen people including four children, each and everyone enjoyed every minute of our stay there including the Jeep Safari, Camel Safari, sunrise, High Tea at the desert during the sunset, star gazing, the tree house etc. We give 10 out of 10.🙏

1. First of all, the owners should not portray thats its convenient to book a non-AC camp as it gets cold at night. The weather was extreme humid and hot, and we were provider non AC camp on the basis of this theory 2. On the booking site, its shown that a camp can accommodate 4 people, however it can accommodate only 2. Also, would not advice sleeping on floor as a small snake was seen in one of the rooms on our arrival. 3. Very very very dirty camps. The clothes were not washed from maybe installation. Bedsheets, cushion covers, blankets all were very dirty. 4. Malfunctioned and dirty washrooms. No water in washroom. After multiple complaints also the issue wasn’t resolved. 5. Shower was not working and the bucket-mug was so dirty that you wouldn’t even want to touch it. 6. Culture show was not as expected, not enjoyed it. Seemed like some newbies are rehearsing in front of us. 7. We negotiated a deal for desert safari for 1k per person but got to know later that even then they charged us extra. Always check the govt authorised dealers for booking any desert safari, camel rides or camps.

Verified reviewI travelled to this dream camel safari experience with my wife in 2025 June and our package was nothing short of perfect !!..we opted for the real camel desert safari package and it was everything we could want for . First night stay under the stars on the Hot desert was a fantastic experience followed by a day long camel ride in the desert hinterlands and then a luxury Swiss tent stay with folk music experience . Here we met one of the most genuine person I have ever met Nazir bhai , our experience was heightened by Nazir’s amazing hospitality , his way of explaining the way of the desert , explaining about the local geography and the warmth in his smile touched us , made us wonder how big of a heart these people carry despite living in the harsh desert , we were humbled and also lucky as we spotted dozens of gazelles and the elusive silver fox , Nazir told us we were really lucky as he hadn’t seen them in a long time . Overall our desert experience was over 10 stars and a big shout out to Red Velvet team and specially Nazir bro 💚😊…highly recommended

Verified reviewThe accommodations here are beyond what I excepted. I came to this area wanting to do a camel safari and sleep in the desert. So glad we decided to stay here with the wonderful tent accommodations. Sleeping outside would of been very, very chilly. We still got the outdoor experience but with a good night sleep, beautiful accommodations and toilets to use. Dinner and entertainment was a great way to end the evening. I can not say enough good things regarding this establishment & the businesses they run. The accommodations was away from town but in an area where other Safari accommodations are. The camel ride was about 30-45 minutes to an area of a few sand dunes. We were off the camels for about an hour to watch the sunset then back to Red Velvet Desert Camp.

Verified reviewWe were staying for a few days in Jaisalmer at Red Velvet and staff suggested we go out for a night of glamping in the desert. As this is their desert camp all the arrangements were made for us. Transport was in a great vehicle and part of the price. Red Velvet is a family run business and we were taken to the camp by Nazir. We arrived early afternoon- we sat out side in a purpose built shaded area drinking chai and enjoying the peace after the bustle of a morning exploring the amazing fort in town. We had a bit of nap time in our well appointed glamper- spacious room with separate bathroom. All modern fixtures. Late afternoon we went on a camel ride to watch the sun setting in the desert. I wasn't keen but was pleasantly surprised- it wasn't as uncomfortable as I was expecting and certainly worthwhile doing. The sunset was spectacular! Afterwards we cameled back to camp where we had a coupe of hours of fireside entertainment-local singers and dancer. We were served drinks and copious snacks (really a lot so I didn't feel like dinner) Dinner was a buffet and offered the standard array of local dishes. A night under the stars- that was so lovely as we were there for full moon. Next morning it was breakfast (buffet and a reasonable choice) and then we were driven back to the hotel

Verified review1000% HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Superb experience for a lifetime to cherish!!! I booked red velvet with my 3 other friends for 29nth March night. We arrived early in the morning around 4:00 AM in Jaisalmer and requested Mr.Nazir earlier about our stay. They let us stay on the rooftop hotel area where we completed our remaining sleep to get charged up for the tour. Mr.Surya welcomed us warmly. We tried Aloo Paratha for breakfast it was good. Later when our journey started Mr Nazir guided us. We left the hotel via Jeep to the tour location. Visited a lake and Khaba fort , Kuldhara Abounded Village in between before arriving at Camel safari spot. I started a camel safari which I was very excited for which lasted for around 1 Hours Towards Sunset. However, experience was really unforgettable With Kayam . When we arrived at the spot, we took a walk in dessert, later they provided us some tea and snacks. was really amazing, Rajsthani folk music was started playing around evening culture Rajasthani show . We slept under the open sky stargazing, it was a very beautiful moment. We were provided 4 very good blankets which kept me warm. In the morning of 30 December, they again provided us with a good healthy breakfast (Boiled eggs, Papaya, Bread n jam, Biscuits and chai). Apart from these 2 things everything was really amazing. Also noticed that foreigners are really given more preference and taken care really well. (e.g. Camel safari, proper seating inside Jeep, etc.) To conclude this, this was a lifetime experience to cherish. I would really like to thank Nazir , Kayam and other guys. The whole experience was fantastic. Highly recommend!!! I would definitely try this second time!!!

Verified reviewWe chose this company to do our safari at red velvet desert camp . We were five people. We started with a beautiful trip on the Jeap with the kind kayam and nazir who took care of all our needs and was very kind in explaining everything we asked. The experience was so fantastic that after having booked for only one night we decided to extend our safari for another night. This is because the desert is fantastic but Nazir (the young boy from the desert who was our guide) made our experience unforgettable. He has an incredible experience and made us feel safe and served as if we were in a five star hotel in the middle of the desert. He cooked for us in a great way and knew how to make us have so much fun that going back was very difficult. Next year we will return again with this company that is very organized and with the young Nazir who is the only person we now trust for desert adventures. Highly Recommended!!
