Cumulatively, the bad experiences started piling up from the day we made the booking - inspite of clearly mentioning that we had kids staying with us, the property tried to add extra fees to the final amount stated on booking.com saying that we only booked for 4 adults (backtracked after showing screenshots from the website). On the day of the check-in, the main office staff just confused our cab driver which made reaching the destination a bit of hassle. So, by the time we checked in, we were already a tad disappointed. The room and the facilities did not make up for it - walls were dusty, garbage piled up in the basement (viewable from the room balcony) and attracted monkeys from the nearby forest in the morning. Although it is not a bad place to stay, we expected a bit more given that the room price was 11k INR per night (2025) (almost the price of decent a 3-4 star property in a big town)

There are sweeping views of the Doon valley from the breakfast area and the adjoining terrace. The staff are very polite and the breakfast spread is really nice. You can also get good food via room service or the in-house restaurant for a quiet lunch/dinner. It is a good place to stay in the area if you discount the inconveniences mentioned below:

The area is 15-20 mins distant from the centre / Landour area, considering it is a hilly area it feels secluded. You can't go around near the hotel. But for the same reason, it's peaceful and quiet. The smell around the hotel location can sometimes be bad when it's windy. So it was not possible to enjoy the beautiful seating area outside.

Very great place for spending your vacation. Great view from the balcony. The staffs were very polite and helpful. Great breakfast menu to charge yourself before heading out. The rooms were big & nice facilities. Good shower 🚿 room & neat towels and bedsheets. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Mussoorie to stay here. I initially booked Crown hotel , but after learning that it's close by Kempty falls, I cancelled . It was a good decision.

Like : the view from property was awesome. Dislike: Strong smell of sewerage ( may be some repair was going on ) . Location was mentioned 800 metres from centre but was actually 5 km away. Parking was bit mismanaged.

ECHOR baris resort is a great choice for those who want to reconnect with nature , enjoy a quiet retreat , and appreciate scenic beauty. The staff is friendly , attentive , and helpful , ensuring a pleasant stay for guest . The rooms are generally well- maintained , clean , and spacious and many of them come with modern amenities. For those who enjoying being active ,they are usually plenty of activities for outdoor like hiking , nature walks , and bird watching .

Overall, I would highly recommend Echor Baris for anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay in mussoorie. I'll definitely consider returning!

The resort is pretty basic. The view shown in pictures is not exactly what is offered. Rooms are run down and food options are limited. Overall an over priced resort and not worth the money. Wont recommend.

They don’t mention that guests have to climb 100 steps on stairs to reach their room, just pathetic experience.

Best property near Mall Road Mussoorie

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a Echor Baris Resort near Mall Road in Mussoorie and was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The location is ideal — just a short walk from the bustling Mall Road, yet peaceful enough to enjoy the serene beauty of the hills. The highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the valley-facing room, which offered stunning panoramic views of the mountains and lush greenery. Waking up to such breathtaking scenery was a truly memorable experience. The hotel staff was exceptionally courteous and attentive, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay.
