How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewA Safe Haven Amidst Chaos – Heartfelt Thanks to Four Points by Sheraton Srinagar We had a wonderful and safe stay at Four Points by Sheraton, Srinagar, during what turned out to be a very tense time in the region due to the unfortunate terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Despite the alarming news, the hotel ensured absolute safety and comfort for all guests. The staff was calm, professional, and extremely reassuring, which helped us stay composed and secure throughout our visit. What truly touched our hearts was the warmth and compassion shown by the hotel team. Understanding my mother's medical condition (she is diabetic), they graciously allowed us to cook a specialized Bengali meal in their counter kitchen — something you rarely find in most hotels. It wasn’t just hospitality; it was humanity. As an added gesture of kindness, we were upgraded to a more spacious and comfortable room, which made our stay even more memorable. In a time of distress, Four Points Sheraton didn't just provide accommodation — they gave us peace of mind, emotional comfort, and a feeling of home. We are deeply grateful to the entire team and will cherish this experience forever. Highly recommended for families seeking safety, sensitivity, and exceptional service in Srinagar. Verified reviewHotel guys call and cancel our stay in less than 6hrs of stay!!! And worse, they try to accommodate us in an alternate hotel which is inferior and bad location. We had to arrange an alternate at such a quick notice. Would never attempt to book at this hotel again!

Verified reviewThe rooms were good. Ideal location. Most importantly the staff were extremely courteous. I have to call out two names. Ishfaq from the restaurant was extremely cordial and willing to go the extra mile for the comfort of the guests. I had an issue with our air ticket which meant I had to speak to the airline customer care number. My mobile though post paid wouldn’t work, neither would the call get connected from the landline of the hotel. Rayees from the front office offered his personal mobile to make the call - what I’d call customer delight. Not being able to make that call would mean cancelling one leg of our travel. A big thank you to Rayees.
With all IDs submitted, the hotel not allowing guests to make calls to numbers such as an airline office cannot be accepted whatever is the excuse. The IT guy informed me he has to get an approval from management - which by all means was unacceptable. A CIO approval is not required for a guest to make a call. Didn’t expect such a response from a Sheraton property. The front office staff was extremely courteous but such policies impact the good services offered by the staff.

They cancelled my booking and despite my repeated attempts the reservation manager failed to even speak with me. Thank god the front staff was little understanding. I ended up booking a cheaper and much better hotel

The property is located in a really inconvenient and bad location. The rooms are average and are not worth what they charge. There is nothing around the property, not even a single shop. The property is extremely over priced, you are better off booking a hotel in front of dal lake - so many options. This property also cancelled my 1 days booking without any reasoning. Their reservation manager shaista is a nightmare to deal with, who doesnt care if you have a place to stay or not. I had 3 days of booking with them and they just randomly cancelled 1 days booking. So i stayed with them for 2 days.
