The hotel is old and restored, loved the ambience and hospitality. Breakfast had variety and good quality. Rooms were quite comfortable but the bathrooms needs upgrade though

Stayed in First floor Noise from above due to furniture moving, Doors closing etc. was disturbing. Balcony is not impressive.

Like very much.. Congrats AC Engineer attended query fastly. Room service boy services satisfied. Morning tiffin service satisfied. Booked one room by booking. Com with lower rate but another room booked inperson was higher rate. Hotel management may be Consider both rooms in lower rate.

I have a severe food allergy, I informed the hotel of this but the restaurant staff were not very helpful in providing me with options. The first day they told me a dish didn’t contain nuts, but it did in fact contain cashews. When I asked for an egg option, like an omelette or fried egg, I was told no by the wait staff because it was vegetarian despite there being milk, yogurt, butter, cream and other dairy products on offer. Eating toast everyday without any protein was not good. I think it would be more helpful to be more accommodating to people dietary restriction and to not impose personal or religious beliefs onto the guests with food allergies and restrictions.

The location is great. Right in the heart of the town. Walking distance to the Bus Stand, Big Temple and the Palace. Many places to eat. The front desk staff were very welcoming and the cleaning staff were very friendly.

Smoke from another toilet caused little discomfort.

The hotel is in a good location near many shops .. The room was spacious and breakfast was great.

No tourist information was available. They could, in no way, help in recommending the tourist places or deciding the itinerary for new tourists like us. Driver's accomodation was pathetic. That wasn't improved despite our request. The driver had to sleep in the car in sweltering heat. The tea bags provided in the rooms were without outer jacket, giving rise to health safety concerns.

Very ideal location - very close to Brihdeeshwara temple, the palace, the main market, restaurants, bus stand and the places of veena making, tanjore painting making, bronze artefacts making and doll making. The breakfast was full variety of local, ethnic- fresh and tasted excellent- very delicious. And so were other meals too. Room Service was prompt. The room, linen, bathroom were very clean

Lovely stay at Hotel Gnanam. Room was at the back of the Hotel so nice and quiet and comfortable if a little dated. They are currently renovating the rooms so that will change soon. Excellent location so we could walk to both the palace and the Big Temple. Staff were all very pleasant. Big thank you to the restaurant staff where we enjoyed some great vegetarian meals and some lovely conversations. Also thanks to the reception staff for organising a day trip to the Kumbakonam and our onward travel to Puducherry.

Wifi provided in the room was of no use as it hardly worked.

Restaurant staff were extremely courteous, especially Shanti. Food, we had for lunch and dinner was tasty and clean. Breakfast spread was quite good and enjoyed the same.

Comfortable and very clean. Generous breakfast - both Indian and European... chocolate cereal and cold milk were a surprise treat! Staff are very helpful. Room service is a nice surprise, and food is good quality, especially chicken Tikka. It is a nice place to retreat from the busy streets.

The restaurant was very dated as was the furniture and didn’t feel very clean. The staff were not trained well in customer service apart from the bellboy who was pleasant, the housekeeper barged into our room when we were about to check out as if she was checking that we hadn’t stolen anything!

The location is very good for visiting the big temple, it’s about 15 minutes walk away . Our room was large and quite clean.

Lower proceed deluxe room was much better than higher priced suite.

Excellent location, helpful staff. They called us to inform that breakfast was closing in half an hour and also extended breakfast service for 20 minutes because we were yet to reach there.

The restaurant was poor. Given it it a vegan restaurant there was little choice other than Indian breakfast. No fruit on our second morning. The restaurant did not open at 7am, not welcomed for those wanting an early start. Also the toaster was useless, it took endless times to make toast. It needs to be replaced.

Location was very good for the Big 🛕. Excellent veggie restaurant Sree Ariya Bhavan nearby. Great biriani and peshawar naan with apple and pomegranate for dessert.
