Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaNothing as such
The proximity to the attractions, great service, good food and menu options. Room was comfy with AC. I parked my bike in front of the property and it was safe. They arranged a govt approved tour guide for me who was a great guy.

United StatesNarrow access lanes.
Location was close to the temple but in a narrow lane, making it difficult to access with a vehicle. Choice for breakfast could be better.

IndiaNothing much to dislike if you know what kind of stay you are booking. Those expecting a hotel experience with luxurious amenities may be disappointed.
It is a very good local property in the centre of the town. Don't expect a luxury retreat but a warm, local atmosphere in the heart of the town. Ofcourse the food is good with many options and the staff serves you well. They also arrange your town visit and pickup which is great.

NorwayIt was in the middle of the old town, so it was a bit noisy. Still it was worth it to be so close to the monuments. Great views from the terrace where you can have drinks and meals
Location was superb - within walking distance of the main monuments. The atmosphere at the Guesthouse was very cosy since it was a family run business and the staff were very helpful and took the time to talk to the guests. They arrange taxis for seeing the site and to and from the Guesthouse.

SpainThe bathroom was quite tired
The Gopi Guesthouse is a well oiled machine. It is in the heart of Hampi Bazaar snd something like a one stop shop. There is a nice restaurant with a roof top terrace and a lounge area and the local food us really good. The waiters double as rickshaw drivers too and the team is happy to help with booking trains, buses or long distance cabs.

United KingdomRight on the main site so great for just walking out to see everything. Good choice of eating places nearby. We kept our bags there during the day as we were leaving in the evening. Nice rooftop although v hot so didn’t use it much - lovely big seating area to relax in just below the eating area.

United KingdomThe room was very hot, even with the fan (though it did cool sufficiently to enable me to sleep); if you can afford it, have a/c. Only 2 sockets, one of which was used for the essential plug in mossie killer; and the other needed for the fan, neither, nor the light switch, accessible from the bed. Left my toothbrush charging whilst out of the room, only to find the power had been switched off from outside. A hot/warm wash only available with the bucket and jug because there's no mixer tap for the shower. Black mould on bathroom ceiling - not good for people with breathing problems. Noise from tv downstairs, well after midnight.
Clean (apart from the mirrors). Good location. Good restaurant for relaxation and decent food - as expected, the tastiest dishes were Indian food. Comfortable bed. Pleasant, helpful staff/owners, without pushing the tours etc too much. I was able to check in early, and there's was a place for luggage storage after check out.

United KingdomThe daily rickshaw driver for our two days of sightseeing was quite expensive compared to other places on our trip but was worth it!
Gopi guest house was in the perfect location to explore Hampi and all the incredible temples. We felt very welcomed and our room was clean and comfortable with good AC, WiFi, a fan and hot water! The staff were extremely helpful, especially with planning our itinerary and providing us with a rickshaw driver. They also kindly let us leave our bags after checkout and have a shower in the evening before our night train. We ate all our meals at the hostel as it was delicious and had a great rooftop view of the temple and the river which was perfect for watching the festival fireworks.

United KingdomHampi is an enchanting and seductive place. The little village beside takes a big role in the charm of the location. It takes a very long time to get to Hampi but it is worth it. I hgave never visited a place with sucha delightful atmosphere and so many happy people. Gopi Guest Hoyse played a big role in my enjoyment. It is owned and run by two or three generations of the same family. Congratulations to them. Please go with no expectations of luxury or high quality; it is not that sort of place. Go, expecting to smile and feel good.

IndiaNothing really. But this is a family run homestay so don’t expect the kind of facilities in a hotel.
The location was superb, a stone’s throw from the famous Virupaksha Temple and the Tungabhadra ghat. Breakfast and home cooked vegetarian meals on the rooftop terrace were excellent.
