How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewJust 5 minutes walking distance from the railway station. Calm and quite atmosphere. Room and wash room were clean. Nice hospitality and behaviour of the owner and staffs are very much appreciable. They are also running a vegetarian restaurant on the roof top. Can enjoy food with a scenic view of Mehrangarh Fort.

Verified reviewGovind Hotel is less than five minutes' walk from Jodhpur railway station and convenient for most of the city. I was very warmly greeted by the friendly staff and the room was clean and comfortable with hot showers (although the hot water is available only 7-10am). The rooftop restaurant has an excellent menu and is reasonably priced - also serves the best chai masala I have ever drunk (a fair-sized pot too); the restaurant also has great views of the fort.
On arrival, I asked for a kettle and was told that although they couldn't supply one, if I wanted hot water to make coffee at any time, I could ask for it at reception - I had to leave early on my final morning, so asked for hot water and was given luke-warm water. Also, the hotel is shuttered at night (the shutter is opened around 5am) which, although there is always someone sleeping in reception, makes me wary of safety (in case of fire etc.)

Verified reviewPerfect location for an overnight stay in-between connecting trains from Jodhpur. It's a 5 minute walk from the station and they WhatsApp you prior to arrival with clear instructions on how to get to the property. The staff were kind and accommodating, allowing us to pre order breakfast ahead of an early departure the following morning.
Probably not the best location for exploring Jodhpur or it's fort, but we had already visited the city a week before and stayed closer to the old town so this was fine for one night.

Rooms were not clean. Check out time is bit early. They should allow up to 11 am.
Sorry to mention that you have already given a review on 17/1/2024, you mentioned overall experience very good. We have company guests coming at 11:00 am so we have kept the check out time of 10:00 at time. I am sorry to mention that you had booked 3 rooms. Our check in time is 11:00 am, very clearly mentioned on Booking.com, but you wanted an early check in at 07:30 am. You arrived at 7:30 am with your family, in order to help you which ever rooms were free we offered them to you. We offered you 2 std rooms and 1 super deluxe room on the same floor. I the owner asked you if you were comfortable in the rooms and you mentioned every thing was fine. You had booked 1 room on the 3rd floor and 2 rooms on the 2nd floor. In order to help you on the same floor we gave you the rooms on the same floor. Thanks for mentioning that the staff was good, but if the rooms were not clean I the owner is always there from morning to evening, you could have asked us, we would have cleaned the rooms for you, Also let me mention that we did not charge you any amount extra for an early check in. Verified reviewThe location is super right by the train station. The staff were amazing and really helpful. The value for money here is amazing - we were staying one night and it was perfect. The rooftop is perfect to hang out at.
The rooms are quite old and dusty. They only provide the big blanket for duvet and no sheet underneath which doesn’t feel super hygienic.
