Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NepalThere wasn’t any choices for kids. Most of the food items were spicy which my child couldn’t eat.
I really like the breakfast buffet system.

After checking in I realised that the chalet was incompatible with my degree of mobility as the washroom was two flights of stairs from where the bed was. When I escalated this to the manager the entire team at Summit Grace collaborated with their other facilities and arranged relocation to a Summit Oakden for the entire stay. I feel overwhelmed by this incredible flexibility and want to convey my gratitude to the entire Summit group for going above and beyond.

BangladeshOH the location. 1.7 km hilly road from Mall Road/Chowrasta (city center). Can be gotten down but impossible to climb up. The only way is by car, which costs 500 rupees from the Hotel to Mall Road.
Amazing, incomparable view of Darjeeling, Hills, Clouds, Long Pine Trees, Tea Garden, and the curved road underneath from the hotel balcony. Heard the Adhan but didn't see the Mosque. The whistle of Toy Train was also heard from the hotel, but couldn't see the train. Moderate breakfast and dinner but meets the need but service is good.

CanadaThe heating was terrible and the weather was really cold. The bathroom was small and never dry. Just 2 towels and non for your hands and feet when you're out of the shower. The breakfast was a decent one, but not many options. Poor facilities. The view is good. And that's all. The cabs don't know where this hotel is located.
The staff was a really good one, always looking for a good stay.

United KingdomThere was an unpleasant smell coming from the drains - leaving the bathroom door closed overnight meant it seeped through the ceiling where the bed was, and you were hit by a wall of smell when you opened it in the morning . When we mentioned this we were given air freshener spray which helped a bit but didn't exactly solve this. The location I can see might be difficult if you have less mobility or you are there for a longer stay - after rain the walk could be slippy and I can imagine it would get tiring doing the long walk or shelling out for taxis. The biggest downside for us staying in December is it was *very* cold. The main building and the rooms were basically uninsulated (all the staff were wearing coats indoors), with only a small low voltage air heater to heat up a whole chalet room itself, which didn't really do much. We were advised it wasn't possible to have two fan heaters due to the power needed. You can ask for a fire to be built, but it's rs/1500 per fire which for us lasted about 2hrs, then the room is cold again. I don't want to over labour the point here as I imagine in the summer this isn't a problem at all - I'd say look at what temperature it is in Darjeeling when you're visiting and decide if you'd be OK camping in about that temperature. Finally, reasonably niche but if you're over 175cm you'll find some of the areas (including the shower) are too low for you.
The location for us was great in that as well as enabling that view it was away from the noisy honk-honk of the busier roads, but a perfectly pleasant approx 20 min walk into the centre, and a short cab ride back if you couldn't face walking up the hill.

IndiaThe property is very old and refurbished. The bathrooms are stinking/bad odours may be because old drainage system. It gives very unhingenic feeling. This issue may be probably beyond property owners control.
The View is ultimate. Upon complain about room size and bad smell of bathroom, the manager gave us big room (suite), without any extra cost.

India1. Bathroom could have been better with a mirror at wash basin. 2. The 3rd bed just below the stairs was a bit claustrophobic.
The view of Mt. Kanchenjunga from balcony was mesmerizing. Also, the cab facility provided for local site seeing was very helpful. Food and overall service was good.

United KingdomThe room was poor- the windows didn’t close, plywood on a section of floor, the shower didn’t work. The breakfast wasn’t for European taste. All in all terrible!!
Nothing- wish to complain that the booking.com description was no where near a true fact!! I have used you everywhere l have been in the UK and the USA and been happy with the service but not this time. The hotel was so poor that l checked out a day early. I used your services in Siliguri at the Courtyard by Marriott instead-very good. So you see l have incurred a lot of additional costs and l feel l should be recompensed for not only the hotel, but also the additional taxi costs. Social media has a lot going for it !!

IndiaIt was technically my first visit to Darjeeling , the first being when I was a year old so cannot remember, and now I'm 49. The hotel isn't close to the mall...it's way is steep . it's actually close to the famous St Paul's school. I really had a peaceful rest and comfort in a most scenic atmosphere I was searching for. The staff is excellent, polite and friendly.
