The only downside was that the toilet was small compared to the other hotels, and the WC was placed right in front of the door, which felt a bit awkward..

We stayed in the Timber Lodge Valley View room and had a wonderful time! The view from the balcony was absolutely stunning, and we especially loved the swing ,it was the perfect spot to relax and to look at scenery. The food was excellent with plenty of delicious options. The staff, especially at the restaurant, were very friendly and made us feel really welcome. Overall, a great experience – highly recommended!

The approach road is narrow and bumpy, which can be challenging for some vehicles. Service can be a bit slow during busy hours, and Wi-Fi connectivity is patchy in some areas. Hot water supply was also inconsistent at times.

We loved the stunning valley views, peaceful ambience, and well-maintained property. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and the staff were warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a nice variety, and the activities like the bonfire and nature walks added to the charm.

The towels and toileteries were not enough for 4 guests and every time we had to call and ask. The room description in the 3rd party app was not correct.

A Truly Memorable Stay at Great Trails Kodai – May 1st & 2nd We had a truly pleasant two-day stay at Great Trails in Kodaikanal during May 1st and 2nd. The moment we settled in, it started raining — transforming the entire atmosphere into a cool, misty retreat, a delightful contrast to the harsh summer heat we left behind in Erode. From the very beginning, the hospitality at GRT was exceptional. The staff made us feel welcome and cared for throughout our stay. The food was absolutely delicious — especially the Alphonso mango juice, which was simply mind-blowing! What made the experience even more heartwarming were the little surprises. A lovely Punjabi family staying there gifted a toy to our child — when we tried to return it, they insisted and even gave us another one. GRT also surprised our kids with gifts and took a beautiful family photo, which they printed and gave to us as a keepsake. Such thoughtful gestures made the stay truly special. Overall, it was a wonderful, value-for-money vacation, and we’d love to return to GRT again for more beautiful memories.

Wonderful experience. The room was clean and spacious, providing a comfortable environment to relax in. The views from the room were absolutely stunning, adding to the overall enjoyment of the stay. The staff were exceptionally nice and polite, always ready to assist with a smile. The food was good with nice breakfast spread offering great variety of options to start the day. The timber chalet is the best room among the others

Breakfast (6.5/10): The food was decent but did not live up to expectations. The menu lacked variety, and the taste was fairly average for the price charged. There's definite room for improvement here. However, the staff at the breakfast hall were very courteous and helpful. Cost: The cost was surprisingly high, nearly double the off-season rates, as the booking was done at a late stage from our part. While the experience was enjoyable, the high pricing felt a bit unjustified considering some of the shortcomings. Overall: The resort offers a mix of luxury and natural beauty, making it a great getaway for relaxation. However, the high cost and average food quality may deter some travelers. If you plan to visit, make sure to book well in advance for better rates.

Here's my detailed review: Location/Ambience/View (9/10): The resort is nestled in a stunning location with breathtaking views of hills and playful fog that provided a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The natural surroundings and the well-maintained property added to the charm. The resort offers some paid and free activities like trekking, zip line, offroad jeep rides, bonfire with games for guests etc. Room (9/10): The room (wooden chalet) was spacious, beautifully designed, and with the sofa bed provided a comfortable stay for two adults and two children. The comfort and attention to detail made the stay enjoyable. Cleanliness (9/10): The property, including the rooms and common areas, was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. It was clear that hygiene is a priority at the resort. Room Service (9/10): The room service was prompt, professional, and courteous. The staff ensured that all requests were addressed quickly and efficiently.
