Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaI don't think they clean/disinfect the bugs from the swimming pool. We didn't use the pool as we saw many insects in the water, others were using it. But we couldn't due to fear of infection. Rest everything is wonderful. Would visit again.
The room, food, hotel staff hospitality and services. Would visit again.

United KingdomWe booked direct on their website well in advance. One week before they cancelled the booking with an automated email. We had to rebook via booking.com at a much higher rate.
Great location. Spacious rooms. Lovely swimming pool. Good staff. Mr Aarjun was especially attentive at meal times.

IndiaNothing. Everything was on point.
the location is amazing. Food is very tasty and when combined with the super service it makes a fantastic stay experience. Value for money stay. The pool is well kept and a dip in the water with the amazing Pushkar lake in view will unlock core memories. I was so happy that I am looking forward to visiting again with senior members of my family. The lawn is so soft and well trimmed. Woke up to nothing else but the chirping of birds, soothing mantras from the temple, and amazing sunrise views over the mountains. They have a wood fired oven for making delicious pizzas. They also have three horses on campus as pets (they are kept in their enclosure) but are very sweet and nice looking. You will enjoy. Just go

United KingdomBreakfast can be quite limited. The palace hotel is quite a walk ( or a short ride ) from centre of Pushkar - although it does offer a quiet and relaxing environment. The main concern was how quiet it was when we stayed - an impressive building but lacking in atmosphere.
Impressive building with inviting pool. Good sized bedroom. Good wifi.

NetherlandsFine Indian hotel, ticks the boxes. Rooms well equipped with nice soft mattresses (not often in India). The palatial style is fun, but is mock. Pool and garden is a bonus. Location is quiet away from the tourist craziness of Pushkar. Alas only nescafe coffee (hopefully temporarily - coffee machine said to be out of order), and no alcoholic drinks.

United KingdomBath was a bit wobbly, but shower was great and I used that.
Its a superbly grand old palace, extensive gardens, pool, terrace, and many rooms. We had a wonderful corner suite room with incredible views over Pushkar and two balconies. The bed was huge and very comfy. Staff including manager Virendra were very attentive and helpful. Had supper outside in the evening which was lovely, and a good breakfast too. Really recommend this place to stay.

United StatesThe location is still walkable to the main area but there is a small steep road that can also be quite dark at night, we still did it and never felt unsafe. There was some confusion when checking in, we were sat down and then told we would have to wait 30 min. The quotes for drives/airport transfers were significantly higher than those available at other tourist locations.
Great view if you do opt for a balcony, relaxing to sit outside and see the lake.

CanadaI guess the trade off for it being so nice and quiet is that your a small ways out of the town Center, so it’s a tiny little extra walk, but actually we welcomed it. This could be an up or a down but the vibe is VERY quiet too, few guests it seemed, maybe due to price? Dining area was always quite empty at any given time. Which again, could be to your liking! Breakfast was so so but that makes sense, due to how few people were partaking. No need to be wasteful! Facilities themselves need some upgrading, bathroom fixtures were falling apart a little. Maybe some more routine maintenance of drains etc.
Staff! 11/10! Always super warm, welcoming and very accommodating. They took really good care of us. Beautiful hotel & grounds, and so quiet at night! Had the best sleeps in our big comfy beds, out of all of the places we’ve stayed in Pushkar, and we’ve been coming for almost 20 years!! Mahdndra Singh at the desk was lovely and helpful in all things! Dining staff were also just the best!!

SlovakiaThe floors in the halls and lobby area of the hotel were washed by hand and had been left very wet, which resulted in my wife falling over. She was fine, but this could have been worse. It was extremely hazardous, particularly around the main staircase, and there were no warning signs in place.
The hotel is very picturesque and in a great location, close to the centre of Pushkar, while still feeling quiet and secluded.

ItalyThe Gulaab Niwas Palace is an hotel with an incredible charm. Looks like an old palace coming from previous century. The rooms are spacious with a nice view in Pushkar lake. The garden with swimming pool and restaurants is very well maintained. In the night they use wood pit fires near the tables to make the environment warm and more dreamy. The restaurant is equipped with a wood oven installed in the garden, cooking fresh foods with very high quality. A special thanks to the Hotel Manager Mr Virendra Singh, to the staff of the hotel always attending all our requests and to the chef Mr Lalaram that has cooked one of the best pizza I eat out of Italy. Definitely I recommend the hotel to all visitors of Pushkar are looking for a nice atmosphere and a comfortable hotel
