How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified review- The staff were helpful - when we couldn't get the A/C to work they explained how to do it, they sold us a water bottle when we asked for it and helped us arrange a taxi when our Ubers kept cancelling/trying to scam us. - The hotel was an 8 minute walk from the Golden Temple
The experience was overall unpleasant. However, for a one night's stay it was passable because of the location near the Golden Temple. - The hotel room was not very clean. The shower felt disgusting to step into because it had some kind of orange stains on the floor. There was no toilet paper (just a bedet fixed internally in the toilet). There were cracks on the walls and paint was falling off. When we accidentally peeked inside the pillow case, the pillow inside it was a dark grey colour from the dirt it had seemingly accumulated over the years (although the pillowcase and duvet themselves were clean) . - The shower head was not working. We did not inform the hotel because it was midnight when we realised and it was only a one nights stay, so maybe they would have fixed this, but not sure. - There were no windows in the hotel room and the room was tiny. It looked much more ragged compared to the pictures. - The hotel was located on a very narrow dusty street which was unpleasant to walk down. All the Ubers in the area were out to scam people, sending their phone number in the messages and trying to get us to pay them outside of the app. You can trust the transportation this hotel offers - if you are staying here, use it instead of Uber.

Verified reviewNothing at all
Everything about the accommodation. Dirty room, dirty bathroom, dirty bedding. So I ended up staying there for about 7 hours. I didn't even bother to have breakfast. I was charged more than I booked it on Booking.com. No receipt for the payment was given. There was no explanation for overcharge or absence of any receipt.

Room was very small. You will not get even standing space after bed. Staff is rude. They will look at you as you have stolen something from them.

Verified reviewOwner was very co-operative & helpfull.
Room is very small, 1st day we didn't get hot water, 2nd day it was to hot hot & cold mixture was not working. Last day we have to use immersion rod to get hot water. They mentioned in side distance from golden temple is 300 metre actually it's more than 800 metre. A/C remote was not available during my entire stay.

Verified reviewWe didn't land until after 11 pm - and arrived at the guesthouse after midnight. The staff was super welcoming and waited for us. The communication beforehand was excellent and made us feel safe to arrive this late in a foreign country. It's really close to the Golden Temple, and you will find the most amazing food and chais just a few footsteps away. They lock the doors in the guesthouse at night and have night-time staff staying in the lobby.
The room, and especially the bathroom, could've been cleaner, but we still felt comfortable. The walls are very thin. The room looks bigger on the photos.

Verified reviewBasic yet comfortable and they have a lift which is great as it's not very common for smaller hotels in India. Hot water worked fine with good pressure. Location is a 4 minute walk from the Golden Temple and a range of lovely markets. The hotel does not have its own restaurant but you can order tea or coffee to your room which they will provide at a charge and they have an arrangement with a nearby restaurant where you can order and have food delivered. We did try this on our first night there and the food was great. The front desk staff helped us arrange a driver to visit the Wagah border. We found this very helpful and more reasonably priced than other places we enquired.
This is not feedback about the hotel specifically but rather on getting there. Once you get a cab or auto from the airport, train or bus station, you must call the hotel and allow your driver to speak with them for precise directions as Google maps wasnt too helpful. Hotel is located in an alleyway so it is rather narrow but ubers can come right up to the door so insist that your driver does so!
