The taxi driver that I believe works for Harish that took us to Sarnath tried the old trick of taking us to a shop and arranged a guide we didn’t request. Poor form😩

Harish and his team are excellent. It’s a real treat to sit in the dining room and share a meal with fellow travellers.

TV reception was not working but it did not bother us at all as we were out to explore most of the time. Overall a good experience.

It's a quiet residential area, so for a family best place to consider. Property is well managed, staff was very helpful and remained in touch to make you feel welcomed . The furnished apartment is spacious, clean and has almost everything i.e. mentioned . Location is good and easily accessible. We enjoyed our stay here.

Somehow, I was mistaken about the location when I booked -- I was expecting a quiet area and 15 minute walk from our homestay to the ghats. The area is quiet and residential, 5 minute walk to the left to a local "retail" street, which we liked, though without coffee shops or restos that we wanted. But it's a tuk tuk ride plus a 5 minute walk to Assi Ghat, 15 minute walk to the main ghat.

Our host was very communicative and helpful and always easy to reach and talk with. We liked having the table & chairs on our balcony/walkway for 2 rooms. We also liked having our meals "family style" with the other guests. My husband would have preferred a different variety of food at breakfasts - perhaps pancakes and/or eggs, he's not a big yogourt fan! I was fine with the breakfasts. We also had 2 dinners during our 3 nights there and they were good, though as seniors who don't eat a lot, the fixed price for 2 was double what we usually paid when we could share.

Name should be more unique…harish homestay. Stellar homestay. Freaking awesome homestay. His home is quite elegant and the dining space was lovely,elegant- yet comfortable and welcoming. The room furnishings could use a bit of sweeper action- but it was comfortable, and the loud air conditioning was like white noise machine, helped drown out some late night noises. There was a mosquito there the first night- but we wore deet to bed.

Mr Harish, his son and his entire staff, especially Mr tiwaldi - rock star- made us feel welcomed, protected, comfortable, and very very well fed. The food alone is worth staying here- the Punjabi curry blew my mind- I will dream about it forever. We booked one night at a fancy ghat hotel- the food was better at Mr Harish’s homestay. The best reason for the stay is that Mr Harish goes above and beyond for his guests. We had a late night arrival- he sent his driver, Mr tiwaldi, who actually came to fetch us by our train car. He also spoke to our next hotel and made the transfer so much smoother- and called the tuk tuk for us and made the best deal for us- it was the best service. I was quite pleased and appreciative for all he did for us. Another reason for staying here- he sells beautiful fabrics, shawls, for very good price- and it is right on his property. If I were to return, I would stay here again.

The apartment allocated is not the same building, hence missed out on the open space i thought we’d be provided.

Friendly staff, helped with the where abouts and timings of things around the place, very cooperative allowed late check out as well.

Excellent all round . An exceptional welcome from all at the property and Harish and his sim where so very helpful in arranging trains and a driver. We would definitely return to this wonderful place.

Harish was very helpful , the staff are all excellent. The breakfast and home Cooked dinners are fabulous and I recommend that you opt for at least one night of the home cooked dinner. The homestay is safe and secure Excellent service , I highly recommend if you are visiting Varanasi

We had trouble initially finding the exact location we did not like that there were no foot mats close to the beds....the mats in front of bathroom is a bit flimsy. Towels are very old. Small things but getting those upgraded will make a lot of difference.

Liked the breakfast and size of the rooms. Also when we requeated, the owners allowed us to check in a bit early (around 9.30am instead of noon).
