The houseboat is in the quieter of the two lakes in Srinagar and was as peaceful as it gets. It’s roomy and beautiful and more visitors should come here. It’s situated right next to a park, meaning you can wander whenever you feel like it. There are many birds - lovely to be wakened by them in the morning - as well as sparrows and swallows, there are egrets, kites, herons and we even saw a hoopoe. Ajaz and his family went out of their way to make our stay special, with good home-cooked food.

Host is very rude Trying to scam First he will take the bookings later he will say no room’s are full. I’ll arrange something for yoi but it will cost you extra then you’ve left with no choice but to pay extra and book the property

Boat was on a maintenance work project of painting the hull. Toxic fumes from paints penetrated to the accommodation during day time.

Loved the ambience,intricate decor,serene location,neat and clean,well-maintained amenities....wonderful view,even the approach road through a small garden Bagh-e-shagoofa was beautiful ,good hospitality by host Mr.Imtiyaz .Definitely recommended.

Wished we'd been offered welcome drink /Kahwah in the morning breakfast menu more varieties of local cuisines should be included.The Dinner was overpriced (400/- per person)considering it included jeera rice,tawa roti,sabji,chicken curry only...would have been complete with a starter snacks as well as some dessert items.However taste was good, Mehraj bhai,the caretaker tried making us feel homely.

Mehraj is a good chef, who made tasty breakfast and dinner for us, he was all time available near of us for our need. Boat owner Mr. Imtiaz is a very nice person, who personally keep attention on us, provide a complete houseboat for our two families, extra bed, dining room and living room was also neat, clean and spacious.

Location, which is peaceful and calm place.

Nicely located Brothers Imtiyaz and Zohur gave personal attention to make stay wonderful

Everything, the houseboat is beautiful, the whole family is incredibly kind, the location is gorgeous and much more peaceful than Dal lake

The boat was on the Nageen Lake in a super quiet and idyllic place. The hosts were more than friendly and extremely helpful. We are grateful abour our experience at the boat and would highly reccomend it.

The lake is perfect for relaxing, A park is connected to the property, great for walking & taking in the beautiful surroundings. The houseboat is extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Very comfortable bed & unquestionably relaxing.

Nageen lake is very beautiful and calm. The view from the houseboat is amazing. The host is very helpful and caring. Food was also nice.

The houseboat is authentically beautiful and very charming, ideally situated in a very calm area of the lake. The view on the sunset is mesmerising and the home cooked food is excellent.

Despite a perfect environment, I will keep a very bad memory of my experience. I strongly recommended to avoid this houseboat, especially for a woman traveling alone. I have been living in India for two years and traveled all around the country, and I have never encountered such innapropriate behavior from my host. There is a very big difference between showing hospitality and making your guests feel uncomfortable by not respecting their boundaries or personal wishes. The hosts were arrogant, mysoginistic, rude on many occasions, and made me feel unsafe. I had to fight for each of my travel decisions, and it definitely ruined my experience in Kashmir.

A houseboat on a beautiful lake with high mountains in the background! What more could you ask for! Tariq and his staff are excellent hosts. They keep you comfortable and attend to every need. (Tariq even bought the shop to me when the weather was bad! ❤️)

It was not their fault that the weather was bad! We thought we could handle the cold as we come from Germany. But we didn't think of the continuous rain! But, Tariq and his team kept the nicest tea coming. And he even brought us some devine walnut fudge.

Warm and friendly welcome; much laughter was had. A fun and relaxed atmosphere in a stunning setting on peaceful Lake Nageen. Family-run with extraordinary home-made Kashmiri food. Imtiyaz, an excellent guide, took us round Srinagar and up into the mountains, again definitely worth doing. Whether watching the kites and kingfishers at sunset or watching the shikaras paddle past, it is a balm for the soul. I could go on, but suffice to say go and stay on the Lily of Nageen. Thank you!

All good. The only downside was leaving as we wanted to stay longer. Hopefully we will be back!

Houseboat, location, shikara ride

Some of the most wonderful holy days I've ever experienced. The boat is lovely, clean, comfortable and offers great views over the lake. Big plus, the home cooked food is delicious. Ajaz and his family are amazing at offering true Kashmiri hospitality, always ready to help from their hearts. They can assist you with all your travel plans, be it the set up of a royal camping trip in the mountains, a sunset shikara ride or a drive to Ladakh. Look no further, they know the best ways and places. A definite winner! Will be back again to bask in these charming beautiful vibes.
