Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Very nice place to stay. The garden is lovely, the host is very friendly, and is French (for French people who want to speak French) The room are very nice and clean. The place is very close to every thing and also very calm, which is a luxe here

The room could benefit from a deep clean, and the towels could be of better material. Otherwise, no complaints. Manu is receptive to feedback and will help find solutions if you have a problem with something.
Excellent host! Manu makes this stay incredible. He goes above and beyond to make your stay as great as possible. He will give you recommendations for activities, help you organize activities, help you with tuk tuk drivers and whatever you need. His hospitality and kindness is why I extended my stay here. He made me feel right at home and truly enhanced my experience in Varkala. I would happily stay here again and again if I return to Varkala. Other positive points: - Unlimited filtered water refill - laundry available on site - Good location, walking distance to restaurants, beach and cliff

The stay with Manu at IHA Ayurveda was incredible. The accommodations are clean and simple, but it is the heart of Manu that makes this place a 5 star! When I arrived I had an ear infection and within minutes Manu had ear drops delivered! In the mornings he would make me a healing tea and really took the time to check in on me. He goes above and beyond for his guests and makes you feel like family. A stay here is not to be missed!

Manu, our host, is generous and helpful, he builds community and connections with all who stay there. There is a peaceful and friendly atmosphere. I would absolutely return.

Choosing this home away from home was by far the best decision I could have made. From the very start Manu made my stay amazing :) he’s super attentive, kind, and always willing to help. He gave me the best recommendations on things to do and where to go (kayaking, massages, stunning nature spots) and arranged every taxi or tuk-tuk I needed, always making sure everything was on time, even at 4:30 in the morning! I really enjoyed my stay. The room was spacious, the pillows were super comfy, and the views were full of lush greenery, which made everything feel peaceful. The whole place has such a special vibe. Every little detail is taken care of, and Manu is always around with a big smile, ready to help or enjoy a good talk.

It’s clean and safe home stay for family !! Owner is friendly and Also he will be able to provide a guidance anything you want in varkala . Absolutely satisfied with the facilities provided by the mgmt. . one of the best home stay in varkala beach and it is very much close to the beach ( 300 meters closure ).

I had a wonderful time staying at IHA Ayurveda Resort! Namu and the family treated me like one of their old friends with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The room was simple yet clean, and the lush garden made me feel like I was staying in a serene oasis. The location is just a 3-minute walk to the cliff, where you can enjoy a stroll along the beach, and find restaurants, shops, and bars. I wish I could have stayed much longer! Until next time!

Property was in such a peaceful location. The house is surrounded by treees and its very calm. Manu bhaiya was just a call way he would be present anytime to assist me. Very positive and family environment. Narendar was also there who had helped us so much

Manu (resort owner) treated us as a family. We really enjoyed & feel like home. Whenever I will visit Varkala, I will stay in Iha only.it exceeded my expectations. kindly recommended, Please go & visit
