How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had booked a double occupancy room through your app. However, on arrival the hotel charged us ₹2000 extra for the second occupant. We showed them the rates listed on Booking.com (₹11,000 for single occupancy and ₹13,000 for double occupancy), and I also have a screenshot as proof. Despite this, they did not accept it, saying it wasn’t reflecting in their system, and went ahead to charge us. This leaves us in doubt whether the error lies with the hotel or Booking.com. We request you to kindly look into this and clarify the discrepancy.

Verified reviewThe property itself is beautiful, nice dining options and the staff are welcoming and helpful. The rooms are dated with furniture which shows many years of use, loose electric points etc.
We checked out of the property on August 12th, after clearing all dues. Yet the hold on my Credit Card, a very large amount, has still not been released. Its already been over 15 days and the hold has remained, causing severe issues for me as I travel and am unable to use my CC effectively. I have been in touch with Ms. Aditi from guest relations about this matter - who has been very courteous and prompt in responding however has done nothing to get the high amount on my credit card released. The issue is still not resolved by the hotel as I write this review end of August. This is unprecedented and has caused me big trouble.

This was one of the most stressful hotel experiences I have ever had. Despite pre-booking, I was told upon arrival that no rooms were available. Instead, I was pushed toward their “next-door property” which does not integrate with Booking.com, cannot charge the same card, and insisted on a different card or cash. This setup felt extremely questionable and gives the impression the hotel is avoiding its Booking.com commitments. At midnight, loud music started from one of the rooms. I complained at 12:20 am. Shockingly, the staff spent over three hours “trying to find the room.” Only at 3:45 am was a room change finally offered after I raised my voice. What’s worse, the manager Kaushiki never once came to address the issue or even offer an apology. For three hours of disruption and stress, her absence and lack of responsibility were unacceptable. The problems didn’t stop there. At breakfast, there was a 25-minute queue while staff stood distracted on their phones. Only after guests made noise were we redirected to another restaurant. Later, my new room access was locked because the night-shift staff forgot to update the system. When I raised concerns, duty manager Mohitri attempted to “calm me down” by sharing irrelevant personal stories about her own divorce, even wrongly assuming I was divorced. As a solo woman traveler, this was not only unprofessional but also extremely uncomfortable. This property is far below expected standards. I have stayed at Hyatt and experienced nothing like this they value professionalism and accountability, which was completely missing here. To the senior management team: Please take ownership and review the conduct of your managers and staff. This level of negligence, insensitivity, and lack of basic hospitality is unacceptable. I expect to be contacted directly about this matter.

Verified reviewThe hotel seemed understaffed. Breakfast was not good, no one even bothered to poured water. Disappointing stay. Even check out, the staff was very callous while I asked them to keep it ready, they were not bothered mostly on phone and seem to have forgotten.
