We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLocation - it's about 5 km from the town. Voltage fluctuation,, but there is good power back up. Lobby didn't have air-conditioning in the morning when it was quite humid.
Friendly staff. Clean property. Manicured garden. Good and prompt communication. Nice pool and gym. Nice view of the Shrine. They delivered my luggage directly to the train station after my visit to Shrine. They upgraded my room to a Cottage at no extra cost.

AustraliaGreat stay, helpful staff. Breakfast was good, staff were very courteous. However room prices are expensive compared to other hotels in the area. Extra bed was charged at 2500rs + taxes and was not very comfortable as the mattress was jumpy.

IndiaWhat I did not like is that despite Katra Marriott Resort being located around 6 km from Banganga/Katra Bus Stand, the hotel does not provide complimentary pickup and drop services, which would have been a thoughtful addition given the distance.
If you’re planning to visit Vaishno Mata for Darshan, the location of your stay is crucial. Katra Marriott Resort is approximately 6 km before Banganga/Katra Bus Stand. Considering this distance, the hotel should ideally offer free pickup and drop services for added convenience.

IndiaThe AC in all the common areas were non functional. There was no hot water in the bathroom when we returned back from Darshan at midnight. The hotel is far off from the Helipad and Ban Ganga and the dropping charges are are on a higher side. Considering the location of the property, they should have reasonable/genuine pick and drop rates.
The room size and the staff was good. The staff was courteous and ready to serve with a broad smile.

United StatesI was traveling with my disabled mother, and after a long and tiring day at Vaishno Devi, I wanted her to have a head, neck, shoulder, and back massage so that she didn’t wake up stiff and rigid the next day. She’s a 2x stroke patient so she has a lot of toning and rigidity as it is, however we arrived at the hotel from our darshans only to learn that the spa was not only across the property but also not wheelchair accessible. The massage was absolutely vital for her to not be in pain the next day, so we painstakingly brought her down two flights of stairs, flanked by two people, one slow step at a time. The masseuse, Usha, was incredible, but shame on them for having an inaccessible spa. Next, and worst, on the list of offenses was that we didn’t have a single restful night’s sleep on either of the two nights we were there. The first night at around 2:30am some man keyed into our room! Luckily I had the bolt lock on and he wasn’t able to fully open the door, but I sleep partially in the nude and it’s horrifying to think that he could’ve just strolled in. He then spent the next 20 minutes after being dismissed by us arguing with the neighboring room about whether their room was his or not. I felt like he was drunk?! But either way, the front desk staff gave some our room access - UNACCEPTABLE. The second night, unbeknownst to us since we were not notified, there was a wedding occurring on the lawn right in front of our room. The entire room shook until midnight and my mother was disturbed and confused by the sounds the entire evening. The buffet meals were completely mediocre. Largely tasteless with minimal variety. The kitchen staff, aside from one or two men who looked like managers that were very accommodating, were also miserable and unhelpful.
The property was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel was so clean it sparkled and the views were positively stunning.

United KingdomMarriot hotel and spa in Katra is amazing. The service as soon as we arrived was perfect and they accommodated some changes to our room. I must give a special mention to the food and the restaurant team. Vishal and all the chefs made such a wonderful buffet selection and the waiting staff were also great. I would recommend this as a place to stay especially if you are visiting Vaishno Devi. Thank you for a lovely stay
