How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewVery interesting place, old-style, but nicely updated facilities. Large, comfortable room, nice, if old-fashioned bathroom. Great food in the restaurant. Excellent view from the restaurant and roof-top terrace. Walking distance to palace and lake. Recommended.
A bit tricky to get to, can't do so by car, but tuk-tuks available. Some electricity supply issues (not hotel's fault, actually they handled these quite well using a local generator).

Verified reviewThe haveli is conveniently located right in the center, only a short walk to the lake and City palace. The views from the rooftop were amazing! The food at the restaurant was also good. And the staff were friendly.
A bit too many messages sent to guests before and after the stay. Also, the duvet and pillow covers were a bit old.

The only thing I did not like was the multiple messages before my stay asking me for details of my arrival for the pickup. This was most disturbing and created stress. When I stated they have the information, the response was all in upper case blaming a coworker. In the end the information was not correct and I was forced to pay extra to a tuktuk driver to complete my journey. This had not been clearly explained. When I spoke to staff about it they just brushed it off with an ‘explanation’.

The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The atmosphere was warm and perfect for families. And the food was really tasty! Verified reviewThe staff was very welcoming and assisting us with any request. We had bottled water delivered at our arrival and on demand all along our stay. The property is by the City Palace and the roof terrace offers a stunning view of it. The hotel restaurant is very good too.
It’s not really about the property itself but I’ve had to be aware that this part of the city is full of stray dogs that bark at night when temperatures get low. We’ve been awaken two nights in a row and the dogs were barking for an hour or more.

I hated the blatant disregard that they showed for Indian tourists and the massive difference between the treatment we received compared to foreign tourists.

As part of our company policy, we welcome our guests with a traditional tika on the forehead and a garland as a gesture of warmth and respect. This traditional activity is typically organised for groups that come through travel agencies, as it is included in their planned itinerary and activities. This is the same as what you can see in our YouTube videos. We had previously extended this traditional welcome to our domestic guests as well, but we observed that many times they did not feel comfortable with this practice. Therefore, we have adjusted our approach to ensure that all our guests feel at ease while still experiencing our hospitality. We truly value your observations and will ensure that every guest feels equally welcomed and cared for during their stay. Verified reviewNice hotel with restaurant included for breakfast or dinner. Room service is also included. Room itself was quite spacious and basic amenities such as water bottles, tea and bathroom supplies were provided. Also close to City Palace.
The location is further away from the main part of the city as it’s sectioned off in alleyways but it’s close to City Palace (10 mins walkable distance). Rickshaws/tuk-tuks can get in but definitely seems harder with cars due to the narrow streets, so recommended to go further down where there’s space to grab car or taxi. No issues with the hotel itself.
