The only issue was the lack of a drinking water filter system, so we had to purchase bottled water from outside.

Our three-day stay at Mahant Ji Residency in Varanasi was an amazing experience. The owner and staff were exceptionally warm and friendly, treating us like family from the moment we arrived. What sets this hotel apart is the personalized assistance they offer. Vishal and Aryan, two of the staff members, were incredibly helpful in guiding us around the city. They accompanied us through the narrow streets (gallis), helped with darshans at temples, and even arranged affordable auto rides and boat trips, saving us from overspending. This hotel is ideal for temple visits. It’s located within walking distance of major temples like Vishalakshi Temple, Annapurna Temple, Dundi Ganapati, Sakshi Ganapati, and Kashi Vishwanath Mandir. The famous Dashashwamedh Ghat for the Ganga Aarti is also close by. One unique feature of this hotel is that they don’t demand advance payment, unlike other hotels that require a deposit. Payment is made directly at the property, making the process very convenient. The highlight of our stay was the genuine hospitality. I spent a lot of time chatting with the staff at the reception—they were that approachable! Even though we speak Telugu, we had no trouble communicating with them as they were fluent in Hindi and English. If you’re looking for a family-friendly, conveniently located hotel with staff who truly care about your experience, I highly recommend Mahant Ji Residency. It’s the perfect place to stay if you want to explore Varanasi comfortably and affordably.

Thought the location is close to the temple, going to the hotel and out is a take. It close by only if you know the internal lanes. The hotel is okays type clean. No hangers to hang clothes. The area just outside the hotel door is filthy. While going to the hotel through small lanes, you have to go along the pilgrims line to the temple gate no.2. police stopped us at least 3 times. It was a task explaining them that we are not breaking the line but trying to reach our hotel. With very difficulty we reached the hotel on the first day. No one from the hotel came to pick us. Dustin in the room and the washroom was not cleaned or emptied. Staff is okay.

I recently visited Varanasi for the first time, and though I was completely new to the city, my stay made me feel like I was at home. The warmth and hospitality I experienced were beyond words—everyone went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and well taken care of. From helping me explore the city to making sure I had everything I needed, the people there truly made my experience unforgettable. A special thanks to Raj and Aryan, who were like superheroes throughout my stay. Their kindness, attentiveness, and cheerful spirits added so much to my time in Varanasi. The highlight of my stay, however, was spending time with two adorable pets, Kali and Dollar. Being a pet parent myself, it felt like heaven to be around them. They were such a delight—full of love and energy—and truly made the place feel like home. I'm already missing Kali, she's an angel. After all, how can anyone hate dogs when visiting the land of Bhairava, where even Bhairava himself has a dog as his loyal companion? Spending time with Kali and Dollar felt like a blessing in the home of Bhairava. To anyone visiting this sacred city, I wholeheartedly recommend staying here. I can’t wait to come back again, and when I do, I’ll definitely return to this same place to see Kali and Dollar healthy and happy as ever. Nothing, everything was perfect.

Properly was near the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir which made it easier to travel. It is also situated in the middle of the old varanasi which also lead to exploration of the famous varanasi gaaliyan.
