How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewRooms were clear, washroom were also clean, bed was really good soft mattress, and it is very near to Virupakasha Temple just 2 minutes walking. And its very near to South Humpi for South Humpi you don't need to do Auto or anything prefer walking because it is just back side of the road and all the attraction are near by if you stay in Center. For any advise ask your guest house/ home stay owner as they are locals they will give you good suggestions

Verified reviewWas a really clean, spacious room perfect for my friend and I. The host was even kind enough to set up an extra matress for us. Wifi was fast and it was within walking distance to everywhere we wanted to visit. We even received a very late checkout for a discounted price as our overnight bus wasn’t until 11pm.
Thank you for the lovely feedback sir

Verified reviewRaju was a wonderful host, the property was very clean and comfortable and we would definitely stay again when we next visit Hampi. The location of the guest house is perfect, step out your door and the impressive Virupaksha Temple is right there. Just a short walk to the ghats where they wash Lakshmi the temple elephant every evening around sunset. Raju also booked for us a wonderful Tuk Tuk driver Shree who we can also thoroughly recommend. Verified reviewSpacious room, good shower, comfy bed and clean but above all the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. After checking out and missing my bus, I came back to the property where the owner allowed me to stay in a separate room until my later bus in the evening, free of charge.
Although I enjoyed the close knit community feel of the area, I feel 3 days was enough and any longer would get a bit stale.

Verified reviewThe accommodation was clean, with an AC room that provided a comfortable stay. It is conveniently located directly in Hampi, making it easy to explore the area. The host was helpful, even allowing us to use the washroom to freshen up before our long train journey.
While the host was polite, the experience lacked the personal touch one usually experience from a homestay. The interaction felt more transactional than genuinely friendly, which made the overall stay less memorable.

Verified reviewRaju the owner was incredible helping me with every component of my trip to Hampi, arranged pickup from the train station, setting up drivers for me to tour all the sites, making sure I had the drivers phone number, checking up on me afterwards. Helping me hire a car to go to the airport. Serving me excellent cappuccino at his mango tree restaurant. The location was also fairly quiet and right next to the temple and step well and bathing ghats. Many good restaurants a few steps from the front door. The mango tree restaurant has moved 5 km away to the town with the archeological museum and is worth a visit.
I did not get to see the deluxe rooms so this review is rating the semi deluxe rooms which unfortunately follow the classic Indian hotel/prison cell aesthetic. Super functional with good AC and a fan and a comfortable mattress. The hot water was a bit glitchy, and it needs a reading lamp over the bed. If you want a basic room in an excellent location this will meet your needs.
Thank you sir we will welcome your feed back and we will improve the same.

Verified reviewWe thought proximity to the Virupaksha temple was important so we chose this place. From that point of view, this place is 2 min walk away. Its good for very budget conscious travelers who want to be close to this particular temple. But there are some details people need to know about this place which we didnt before getting here: There is no cafe attached or even hot water pot in the room. Though there are a variety of eating places nearby. As soon as the door is opened, there is a bed pushed against the wall .. there is room for little else. Bathroom: There is no separation between the bathing area and the toilet seat in the attached bathroom. So way to the toilet seat is often wet. The sink is outside the bathroom, in the bedroom but apparently this is quite common in places like this. Amenities: However, bathroom and sink were clean, hot water and AC were working, there were several small wall shelves and places to charge your phone ( with rounded two pin or 3 pin Indian style chargers) The owner/ manager was always contactable by phone and responded quickly. When we asked for the sheets to be changed, he arranged that immediately. But, note that we felt we needed to have the sheets changed in the first place. He also organized a pickup from the train station by tuktuk but unfortunately it was a vehicle that was old and uncomfortable and a driver who was tired and testy.
This is hardly a guest house. There is no concierge, common areas to sit like a lobby or or even chairs inside the tiny bedroom. You can either sleep or you can step out onto the street. Those are your two choices. These streets are narrow and noisy (cats, dogs, monkeys … the works) but not many tuktuks thankfully - they were either not allowed or restricted. Constant dull rhytmic sound from restaurant across the street. Also, by being here you cannot avoid taking some transport to see all the sights which are not walkable to. So I would not chose this place for its location alone. You can chose this place (after knowing these details) for its relative inexpensiveness and if you want the experience of staying in an area that was once probably an ‘agraharam’ (priest quarters surrounding a temple) now turned Hippy/ neo-hippy hangout.
We done our level best madam thank you once again. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
