How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

1.Everything has to go through their 'glu' app. You need an umbrella or iron to press your clothes you gotta raise a request. 2. They have this weird 'house rules' that after midnight you are not allowed to stay in the common area, not even with the lights off. 3. Hostel food is average. 4. Wifi fluctuations and inconsistent. P.S.. other than point 2, you may ignore or overlook the rest other points.
1. They have one common area (not scattered) which makes it easier to socialize, play games, WFH, and share food! 2. Friendly kind staffs. 3. Solo-traveller friendly hostel. 4. Vibes are amazing even on weekdays and during the off season as well.

It isn't too quiet in this part of town, so you can hear noises in and near the building in the evening but this is expected in this area
The staff were honest and flexible. I've booked accommodations with misleading info and false photos, so I had asked the staff if i could see some rooms in person. They were happy to show me the options and let me pick and change my reservation. This was very kind. They also offered me an umbrella in the rain and could clean my room any time. I stayed in a private room, and the room was very spacious.

We booked a private room that was actually super nice and clean ☺️ Also we had an amazing shower in the morning with good water pressure and hot water. The staff were kind. If you can, do the check-in before arriving because it took us 40min+ to do that with a bunch of people in front of us which was a bit annoying. I would just not necessarily recommend the food there because for me it was too oily, but that’s maybe just personal preference.

I took a private room and overall it was good but it's the smallest one I have seen so far. Location is also bit challenging to reach and parking per day is Rs. 500. You can choose options which are more accessible.
Overall property is very good and clean however cafeteria is highly overpriced

They do not have a car parking . And the nearby parking charges around 300 for 12 hours.
Bunks are comfortable. Food and vibe is good

Cleanliness could be better - the floor in my room had not been cleaned recently, and the windows in the cafe upstairs should be cleaned for the amazing views!! The building site view from my room... But maybe that's just life ;)
A friendly place. Great view from the cafe at the top of the building. The location is good for cafes and not too far from a nice waterfall. The staff were very helpful when I had any problems and friendly too.

Staff has to be told to clean the balcony which I feel should be included in their room cleaning service. The vendor they have tied up for scooter rentals needs to change, every other vehicle has some issue or other and all of them have very loose breaking system and below average suspension.
Very professional, helpful and caring staff, who go out of their way to help you and also very knowledgable. Also all of the service requests are processed pretty quickly, they have provided different facilities as well.

Water is not hot enough they fixed it once we complained, bed is not comfortable in private rooms, frequent wifi issues as well

Location is great with plenty on the door step. We had a problem with the toilet in the room during our stay but staff were very helpful in trying to rectify it. Staff were all friendly and welcoming. Good options for activities if you are interested.

The location can be the only problem if u don’t have bike or scooty. u’ll need to hike and with bags and it might be challenging

The GLU app is rubbish - Hosteller always make you download it to check in and it's just awful. The entire rooftop terrace here is currently a building site. We chose this place because we wanted a view of the Ganges at night and it's just not possible. You guys really need to be honest with guests if your rooftop terrace - one of your main selling points - is closed. Hardly any toilet roll in room and it's a 10 minute walk from the main area of Rishikesh.
Room was spacious, friendly staff, moderately comfortable and good view from room. Decent value for money overall.

Location is a bit uphill. Shower does not get much hot water.

The bed frames and storage drawers have very sharp edges which can cause injuries. For example, a curtain rod got dislodged from the top bunk and hit me in the face, the staff helped rush me to hospital to get stitches. WiFi doesn't work in the dorms at times.
Great location, kind and helpful folks, very chill, all facilities, various arrangements and activities possible. Good WiFi at the common area for work. Food at the hostel cafe is decent, although a little expensive.
