Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly place we’ve stayed in India so far that didn’t have UK 3-pronged plugs - staff were able to provide a converter for a USB.
Such friendly staff, from the check-in team, to room service staff and those who worked at breakfast. Everyone was really helpful about making the most out of being in Jaipur and couldn’t do enough to help us and feel comfortable and welcome. The location felt like a retreat within a city and was very relaxing.

United KingdomThe Hotel is glorious . The staff all so kind and friendly . Nothing was too much trouble. It really is an Oasis in the middle of Jaipur. This is our second trip to Jaipur and we will definately return to the Hotel Narain Niwas . It has an old world charm about it and the food is reasonably priced and very good . The restaurant and bar at the end of their drive are exceptional. We felt as two ladies in our sixties travelling on our own very safe and secure at all times and well looked after We did visit more formal larger hotels while in Jaipur but far preferred here. The ambience and warmth here is superb.. Hotel Narain Niwas a BIG thank you .

IndiaUnfortunately, when we stayed there, Jaipur had unprecedented rain on two days, which meant the long walks between rooms were painful to navigate, especially since the polished stones could get slippery. Accessibility is not great, with lots of small sets of steps up and down to the dining room, to the rooms, and a short steep slope up from the car drop off point. This did have a good railing, but other places did not. The flooding also made the bathroom smell bad, and apparently disabled the main kitchen so we were unable to get dinner, finally just eating what they had on hand. It was very kind of the staff to scramble and feed us something, but it was definitely a shock in such a luxury property. They offered us high tea on the house to compensate the next day, but the day after the kitchen was out of commission again from the rain.
The heritage building is beautiful, and the staff were amazing, so attentive and helpful. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms nice with excellent water pressure in the showers. There was a lot of green garden space to hang out and play games, and the coffee shop is beautiful, with nice food. There's a whole set of restaurants and shops attached to the hotel which were nice to visit.

IndiaThe art paintings on the roof and wall were kinda dilapidated. Didn't expect it in this type of hotel. It can be better maintained.
Spacious room and bathroom. I was in the old wing on the second floor.

The property is absolutely lovely, refined… A palace that feels like home! The peacocks roaming, and the sounds they made. A palatial oasis in the center of Jaipur, not to mention the best shopping arcade and the legendary Palladio bar. The staff was perfect too. In a way it felt like being in a very chic club, they made me feel like I belonged.

IndiaBreakfast quality for South Indian items needs improvement and the curtains are slightly small which misses to cover some parts of the gate and window.

SerbiaThe hotel is located in a famous neighborhood in Jaipur. It is one of the most beautiful heritage hotels in Jaipur. Everything is exceptionally clean - rooms, pool, garden. The yard has well-kept plants, it is full of birds and squirrels, you wake up in silence in the morning, you go to sleep with birds chirping. The stay seems unreal - you will have the feeling that you are in the past, and that you are somewhere in nature. The pool has a pleasant water temperature, comfortable loungers.

We loved our stay at Narain Niwas! The rooms and hotel grounds were all beautiful. It felt like a real oasis during the heat of the day, with peacocks and monkeys in the trees. Breakfast was great, and there are some amazing restaurants on the same property as the hotel.

AustraliaSome of the facilities are a little outdated. Pool isn’t heated, bathrooms are mixed quality with some toilets etc being quite old. Room service is expensive and some staff can be a little pushy for tips. It’s a small distance from major tourist areas but it’s super close to trendy suburb of C-scheme so if you’re a foodie/love to shop this location is perfect. Overall this shouldn’t prevent you from staying here though - is a great place to be.
Narain Niwas is gorgeous. Beautiful property, beautiful rooms and some of the best restaurants and bars in the city are on-site. There is also a really beautiful shopping complex on-site that is super reasonable prices and the coffee shop has amazing coffee! ☕️ Staff are lovely. Rooms are really comfy and super cute designs that will truly make you feel like you’re staying in a palace. Peacocks on the lawns and monkeys in the trees will make you feel like you’re living in luxury in the jungle!
