Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Kiran is an amazing host... He hosted us in his new property and it was an amazing few days spent there... Best facilities... Kiran went out of his way to ensure we felt like we were a family to him and his family... Took care of the smallest detail... Went there as strangers to him and we have come back with fond memories and someone to call a friend .

SwedenWifi was a bit shaky at times
The lovely family at Gopi took care of us and told us everything that’s good in town, flexible with check in and out times which was much appreciated. Located in New Hampi for a calmer stay away from hustle. We rented a bike which was the perfect way of seeing everything you wanted in your own pace. Rooms at the Homestay was clean and well maintained, pleasant rooftop for hanging out during the warmest hours or watching the sunset. Best part of our stay is when Kiran brought us for running competition in Hospet! Ask him and he’ll find a good event for you ;)

United KingdomThe coffee machine/coffee making facilities mentioned on booking.com as available in the kitchen weren't there. However, Kiran's wife made lovely coffee with the nice breakfasts in the morning!
This was a great place to stay in Hampi, a few kilometres and easy tuktuk ride from the main sights. We were really glad that we were not in the centre of Hampi Bazaar, as the homestay was in a real, local area rather than a tourist enclave and we loved listening to the birds and sounds of the neighborhood from the wonderful roof terrace. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and Kiran, the owner, was very knowledgeable and helpful in planning our daily trips. When our train to Goa was cancelled at the last minute, he contacted a travel agent for us and booked us overnight bus tickets, which saved us a lot of hassle and stress. I would also highly recommend our tuktuk driver, Madha, who drove us around all the great temples and was also friendly and Knowledgeable. Altogether, I definitely recommend this homestay for anyone who wants an authentic experience of amazing Hampi!

IndiaThe access road is very small and if you have a big car it may be difficult. This, being located in new Hampi, is a limitation of the town although we could manage well with our small car and also could visit nearby restaurants
Location is close to main area of tourist interest. Being a small town it is good to travel in auto rikshaw, the Host did good arrangements for the same. Breakfast was home made and very good. The room is small but clean and good value for money, if you plan to explore Hampi for a longer duration. Host is very good, conversant and helping in providing information and arrangements for sight seeing and other activities in Hampi and around. Very suitable with multiple rooms and a common dining and limited self cooking kitchen for a larger family or group.

VietnamNothing to say here. Everything was great!
GopiHomestay was excellent in all aspects. Karim and his family are lovely. A delicious and home-prepared breakfast was provided daily around 8.30 (you can ask to have it a bit earlier or later). Filtered water is available for you to fill up waterbottles. You can also organize to have dinner at the homestay. Our room was on the first floor (or second floor if you count ground floor as first). It was super cute and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and there is a heater for hot water showering in the ensuite bathroom. There is a fan and AC in the room. There is also a rooftop area with a lovely view over the parts of the town and the hillsides in the distance. The area itself is quiet but numerous cafes/restaurants, an ATM, travel center and pharmacy are within walking distance/quick auto-rickshaw ride away. The homestay is about a 10-15 minute auto-rickshaw ride away from the monuments of Hampi and the Hampi old town/bazaar area. Karim was extremely helpful in organizing our sightseeing with an auto-rickshaw. If you choose this option, I recommened to ask for the driver named Mada. He drove us around for a fair price and was excellent, providing us with good and accurate details but never overwhelming. He was flexible with timing and lunch, so we could explore the sights at our own pace and take breaks as needed. Whenever we were ready, Mada was there to take us to the next place. It is worth remembering that this is a rural area and power cuts might occur. GopiHomestay has a backup battery, so you will never be in the dark, but small appliances (e.g. hairdryer, kettle) can damage the battery and should not be used when the backup battery is on. During our stay, we changed our long-distance travel plans and Karim helped us organize everything, practically at the last minute, going well above and beyond to make sure we were well sorted. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to our friends. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was good, varied and tasty. The rooftop was a great place to sit and relax, with a lovely view over the village and the landscape. Really great homestay in new hampi. Kiran (our host) helped organise a tuktuk pick up from our early morning bus which then turned into a trip to watch the sunset with a masala tea stop - a great way to start the stay. Kiran personally showed us round some monument/temples and ganappa the driver brought us to great locals spots. Even switching up the temple viewing to go bouldering more off the beaten track which was a highlight. Lovely chilled homestay with hammocks on the balcony right outside our room. Also great dosa for breakfast!

United Kingdomkiran was a great host, very knowledgeable about the area having grown up locally and studied hampi's history. He was very welcoming and really helpful throughout our stay; organised collection from the hosapet train station, an itinerary to make the most of our 2days there and tuk tuk drivers. The location was perfect for travelling between temples, old hampi, restaurants etc. The food provided was great particularly the eggs bhurji and masala chai.
