We had an amazing stay at Noah's Nest Tree House. The hosts are lovely and helped us with everything, especially booking a great tour in Gavi, where we could see elephants, monkeys and waterfalls. We are very satisfied with the room and the view is even better in real life. We also went kayaking in their river, lovely experience.

The only thing is the food options. Since it is a bit far away from restaurants there were only one meny available, food was ok nothing special.

Such a beautiful outlook over the river. Comfortable room, and very peaceful and quiet location. The caretaker was very helpful.

The road was a little difficult but fine.

Jungle treehouse and houseboat. We swam in the river which was safe (as far as we knew!). Rooms are all pretty basic but clean and the bucket showers are excellent. We stayed in the beached boat which was romantic, but a steep climb down. Bats whack the roof at night. You will sleep better when you know this. Breakfast is good but basic. You can easily order food and drink from a local restaurant, which was very good indeed - but beware over ordering as we did! Lovely walk in the neighbouring tea plantation. Book any Periyar park tours - half hour drive away - as early as possible in person at the Ecotourism centre in Thekkady. Website won't let you complete bookings and places are limited. We took the half day trek and rafting which was excellent. Thanks to Ganesh who looked after us nicely and booked everything.

Beware that if you take the houseboat, which you should, it's a long way down the steps and back up with your bags. Also you're in the jungle so expect lots of night time critter activity - outside hopefully!

The location is beautiful and the experience itself is one of a kind. The staff is nice and helpful. Cleanliness was overall good for a treehouse in the nature.

We found the price to be quite high compared to what you get. The toilet and the fittings of the shower were broken and need some repair. We managed anyway, but it's not the optimal solution if you want to relax. Also breakfast could have been a bit more abundant. We found the place where we got the breakfast quite dirty unfortunately.

We got the best room with the lake/ river view. Amazing view from my bed. I have canceled all my programs and enjoyed the view in whole day. The owners and workers are lovely people.

We needed to go out every time for food. As we had a car, it was not a big drama. We could order food but it cost a fortune (3 - 4 times more than restaurants).

The location is spectacular since you are IN nature. The idea of staying in a treehouse like room is really fun and makes the whole experience of immersing in nature spectacular. The hosts were very warm and amicable and waived the payment for dinner as we experienced serious water pressure problems in one of the rooms.

The grounds surrounding the boat-room was infested with leeches and the access was not for the faint hearted. The room content/amenities were not up to the standards we expected as the price we paid was similar to a well run 3-4 star hotel (sheets were not very clean, no shampoo etc.) and the same goes for the breakfast that was minimal and we were expected to pay extra for extra tea and an additional boiled egg.

    Property response:

Hi Gideon, Thank you for your constructive feedback regarding your recent stay at our property. We take guest feedback seriously to continuously improve our services. Based on your comments, here are a few points to help all readers better understand our property: Access to the Boat House Access to the boat house involves descending several flights of stairs to the riverside, which can be challenging for guests over 60 years old, as in your case. We usually provide alternative options for guests who may find the stairs difficult. However, on the day of your visit, we were fully booked and couldn’t offer an alternative room. Leeches and Insects As we are located near one of the largest tiger reserves in the country, our surroundings naturally support a rich variety of flora and fauna. During peak rainy months, like October and November, a few leeches can appear near the riverbed. We address this by applying salt around the area to keep their presence minimal while preserving the natural habitat. Room Rates Your visit coincided with peak tourism season, during which rates are slightly higher than usual. However, our prices are still about one-third of what 3- or 4-star hotels in the area charge during the same season. Breakfast Charges We apologize for any confusion about breakfast charges. There was a miscommunication with our staff, who initially thought you had booked a room without breakfast. This was clarified, and you were not charged extra for tea or a boiled egg. This was well communicated to you. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. We look forward to hosting you again and ensuring an even better experience.

We have stayed only for one night but it was interesting experience. We loved the fact that we are in the middle of nature, just watching the trees and birds and otherwise silent and calm As we came in the evening, the caretaker even went to a restaurant nearby and brought us dinner. The road to get there by car was a bit challenging and it's good to have smaller luggages or backpack as they need to be carried up and down stairs.

It was a bit challenge to get hot water running in the bathroom and obviously all the amenities are a bit simpler, but why not. :) Expect possible animal encounter as I found quite a big spider behind by suitcase in the morning. :D Fortunately didn't take him with me.

The idea of the tree house is very cool and it really feels like you're in the middle of the forest. There's also a hanging bridge to go for breakfast which makes the experience more adventurous, and I could record some nice shots with the drone.

The hanging bridge to go to reception and dinner moves quite a lot and the handlers on the sides have some metallic spikes which may hurt if you grab them looking for balance

The location of the tree house is very beautiful and amazing. We would like to stay again during the winter also. Very good caretaker. It was a very pleasant stay.

We haven't taken the breakfast, but in the room it's mentioned only a bread and iam for the breakfast. Its very disappointed.

    Property response:

Hi Srinivasan, thank you for the awesome review! For breakfast fast we either give English breakfast or South Indian. The Guest can choose from any of the above options. Hope to see you again soon!

The setting is beautiful, up in the trees on a hill overlook the river below. The family who own the property are just lovely ! So welcoming. The food was good and the dining area has a fabulous view as do all of the tree houses. The caretaker was informative, attentive and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable, if you like birds it's a paradise. I will certainly return.

    Absolutely nothing!

    • Incredible location with terrific views. • Everything is so cool: access to the restaurant area is through a suspended wooden bridge, the tree houses are far enough from each other to offer privacy, the boat house adds to the uniqueness of the location, the restaurant has an old colonial lounge style and is fitted with a pool… • Cool lighting at night, making the place safe but still wild. • Easy walking & hiking paths straight from accommodation. • Good local traditional food offered on site.

    • Wifi is very long to connect to (it took 20 minutes for the first device to get internet access, 60 minutes for the second). For some reason, iPhones cannot access the internet on the local network. 4G is okay.

This property was really unique and I was very happy to have spent 3 nights here, 2 nights in the houseboat and 1 night in the treehouse. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse because of its authenticity, views and great food. The owner and caretakers also were very helpful in arranging activities and driving me to the bus station with the tuktuk.

Not a bad thing, but good to know; the guesthouse is +/- 40 minutes away from the Periyar national park. You can take a tuktuk to the busstand and take a bus to Kumily or go directly by tuktuk.

    Property response:

Hi Julie, thank you for your review! We had an awesome time hosting you at our Property! Yes, the reserve is around 40 minutes on the bus from our property. However the entrance we go for the jeep safari is around 15 minutes by car/taxi and the entrance for the boat ride is around 20-25 minutes by Car. We recommend taking a car/ tuk tuk to reach the reserve faster. Please do come again! Hope you have a great trip in India!
