The dinner was very simple if you are hungry go eat out. The massage( not the one near the beach) was not worth it. My hair was full of oil after a head massage and my room had no hot water so i had to boil a kettle to wash the oil off but I guess it's part of the experience. .

Had a great stay. Location is near enough everything. On the water is special. New house. Very helpful family helped me with all my personal booking I am grateful. The backwater was relaxing comfortable and enjoyable. Near bus station.

The hosts were all very kind and made me feel completely at home. They even helped me plan amazing experiences like the houseboat and kayaking trips, which made my stay unforgettable. I've been traveling the region for decades and this is my fifth trip to India. As a seasoned traveler it's such a joy to find accommodation like this. The family who run this small place far exceeds the warmth, friendliness, and service I've found anywhere - they're such good people. There's nothing that isn't attended immediately should you require it with the Mimi, Rino, Ronnie, Robbie, and Sona all eager to make sure you're stay is comfortable as possible. The accommodation itself is spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable, the views lovely, the location perfect, the wifi fast...everything is perfect. Fort me, as a person who sometimes has problems with noise, the rooms are great in that the doors, windows etc are built with high quality furbishment making the rooms very quiet. The homestyle meals provided are authentic, tasty, well priced, and an insight themselves into local culture with a wide array of different types of Indian cuisine dished up each day. The value of this place is phenomenal!

Excellent location. Fantastic views of the canals. Super clean room. Comfortable with attached bathroom and air conditioning. All required amenities were made available. What made this place stand out is the staff. Family run Homestay. Mother and three sons. All very helpful and friendly, went out of their way to make my stay memorable. Nothing was too much trouble. The mother prepares made to order meals. I am Malayalee and all the dishes were authentic Keralan food. Very accommodating, from check-in to checkout, and bag storage. If I could give a higher than ten rating I would! Highly recommended, don’t think twice to book this place for a smooth, comfortable and relaxing stay.Value for money and very reasonably priced.

The room was clean and the AC worked well. From the community balcony you have a nice view of the river. They also organized an amazing overnight houseboat tour for us. You shouldn't miss that! It's a little bit far away from the city center, by feet you need 15 min.

Not to have been able to stay more nights.

The minute I entered the house, I felt so welcome. The family made me feel at ease straight away. It was so nice being able to chat with them to get to know more about their lives, which was what I was looking for. They are so attentive and will send you lots of info not only about the great authentic tours they can organise but also recommended places to see around and restaurants. I did the sunrise kayak and that was such a wonderful experience. I decided it quite late and the ferry was leaving 5 minutes later, no problem! A quick call to make the ferry wait and in less than 10 minutes and a very short moto ride away and I was inside and someone from the ferry was there to tell me where to stop. I took the ferry back around 19:00 and the person who did the kayak messaged the hosts to let them know I took the ferry. I felt so well looked after. The place itself is very nice, large room and bathroom and the best is the terrace overlooking the canal where you can see life goes by. The homestay is on the village side with gorgeous rice fields. They encouraged me to walk around and that was great. The breakfast was also delicious. If you want to have an authentic stay, don't hesitate, this lovely family will take care of you.

Can’t fault it

The room was clean and had a great view of the canal. The communal fridge and kettle were appreciated. A lovely family run the guesthouse, and we were lucky enough to be invited to the son’s engagement party. The roof is a great place to dry washing and watch a sunset. Very clear check in information. Would stay here again!

Rino, his brother Robin and their mother have been amazing hosts. The room is clean and there is an option to have the breakfast and diner, made by their mother. The food was very good. They also arranged for us 2 really great boats tours. We highly recommend to book a stay with them!

There was absolutely nothing not to like about this homestay.

I had an amazing tine at Paddy N Canal. Robin and his family were extremely helpful and Mum was so sweet. The room was spacious and the whole property was extremely clean. I was made to feel at home from the minute I walked in. I highly recommend staying at this place if you want to be assured of an excellent stay in Allepey.

What a find Paddy n Canal Home Stay was. Robin and Rino are great hosts - hospitable and welcoming. They provide a very useful list of everything you need to know while staying there - right down to directions to the house in Malayalam for a tuk tuk driver. The house is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and in a lovely peaceful location beside a canal. I really enjoyed my stay there. Highly recommended.

Everything was perfect!

This was truly exceptional. Excellent location in allepey - peaceful, right next to a canal in the front and garden and rice fields in the back. New spotless house. The room had quality insect protection. There was a balcony with comfortable armchairs. The owners were so nice! And the food! Very good breakfast and absolutely delicious kerala dinner. Many different little dishes beautifully presented. The lady of the house could easily run a high class restaurant!
