We stayed 3 nights.Stay was very pleasant.Staff was very courteous. Breakfast was plentiful. They arranged a tea factory visit for us even though we hadn't asked for it. That was very thoughtful of Madam Daisy. My kid was delighted with the Factory visit as the kind Manager helped us understand the processes. Bungalow Rooms were of the colonial era types which we loved. Staff was super attentive and helpful. The chef made tasty food as per our requests.

ONLY THE SIZE OF THE ROOMS IS BIG, STAFF IS GOOD.

PROPERTY IS VERY OLD NOT WORTH THE PRICE , VERY OLD FURNITURE , BUILDING ITSELF LOOKS SPOOKY, NO PROPER HOT WATER IN ONE OF THE BATHROOMS, BOOKING SITE SAYS ALL SOLD OUT BUT PHYSICALLY THE ENTIRE PROPERTY WAS EMPTY. SERIOUSLY NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THAT PRICE. COULD HAVE GOT A BETTER PLACE FOR THE SAME PRICE.BOOKED IT ONLY BECAUSE IT DISPLAYED ABAD ON WEBSITE BUT IN PRACTICAL NOWHERE ABAD WAS EVEN SEEN.

Excellent property, well maintained and clean. Great location and friendly staff

The staff only understands Malayalam and communication even in English is a challenge. Food options should be increased and cooking style improved.

Location and setting is amazing! A colonial era bungalow in a lush tea estate. Just being there is immediately relaxing and nostalgic. They also have a tea factory and do a lovely tour of the facilities which is very interesting. The room was big and the bathroom was nice. Mr Binoy the manager is a very kind and helpful person and we enjoyed chatting with him and learning about the area and the property. Food is generally tasty and the breakfast was nice. The grounds are lovely and we enjoyed having a swim in the pool surrounded by the beautiful estate.

Its the little things that could be improved to make a better overall experience. For example while the rooms are nice, the lighting was very dim, making it hard to read at night. This really needs to be addressed. There was no fan so when on generator power there was no alternative to the AC. Some floor fans would be a simple, cheap and energy efficient solution. Staff were nice and well meaning but we found we had to ask for obvious things like replacing bathroom amenities after 3 nights, when it was obvious they were running out. When the manager and sub manager are not around the other staff dont really know too much and it's hard to communicate so mealtimes were a little frustrating. They have lovely old style outdoor chairs but no cushions ( at least not by default), making extended sitting uncomfortable, and the pool deckchairs had no cushions as well. Lastly we were confused by the dinner serving sizes....the same curry we ordered on day 1 vs day 3 varied significantly in portion size. These are small things they do add up.

Everything is perfect and so well run here, I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the welcome by Binoy to the wonderful staff at the bungalow itself, to the walks around the plantation and everyone so friendly there, a stay to remember.

A very minor thing, but for Westerners would one day love to have good bread and a muesli type of cereal. When I mentioned brown bread, they went out and got some, despite it being Christmas Eve!

The bungalow is at the top of the tea plantation, so the view from the place is excellent. The place is 125 years old, but well maintained, extremely peaceful and furnished aesthetically. The staff is always around and ready to help you with anything. They always made sure that we were having a good time. The complimentary visit to the tea factory as well as their breakfast is also not to be missed. A suggestion from the manager at the tea factory lead us to Muneeshwaran Kunnu nearby, definitely recommended. Money well spent, I would say..

Nothing that I did not like, but a tip to those who prefer spicy food, do make it a point to inform the staff in advance and they will surely cater to it.
