Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaThe breakfast. It was probably the only downer. Very limited options. The second day we went out somewhere else for breakfast.
This was a stat that went beyond my expectations. The approach is a bit tricky and I was worried that Google maps was lost. So the place is a bit hard to find but once you’re there it’s a whole other world. The cottages are very nice. Not a luxury experience but certainly one that meets all your needs. Good AC, minibar, TV etc. Comfy but small bed. The best part is Uma by the Sea which is right there. Amazing food and live music. We sat there for hours. And it opens up into the sea.

United KingdomNothing significant that I did not like. It would have been nice to have shops more accessible, however, then you would sacrifice the calm. The power frequently dropped in and out. Not an issue in general as it was essentially the lights flickering but I did give up on trying to watch any streaming service on the fab smart TV, as I would have to restart each time.
Lovely clean, well appointed and comfortable cottages. Good value restaurant with excellent food, especially the pizza (Goan speciality and delicious). Attentive, efficient and friendly staff. Felt very welcome and looked after. Great position on the beach.

IndiaThe geyser in my room wasn’t heating enough
This was my 4th stay at this property and everytime it’s been brilliant. Right from check in, to the daily service, the rooms - everything is superlative. I’d change nothing. What’s even better now is the attached restaurant. The food there is outstanding so now an added reason to come stay here along with the close proximity to the ocean.

SerbiaWe highly recommend Pause by the Sea and Uma by the Sea! There are several reasons for this, but to highlight a few: the places are clean, located right on the beach, and the food is exceptional. Most importantly, the crew is incredible! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel very welcome, and we chose to spend our days at the property. They assisted us with transportation, late check-in, and special requests. The whole place is not too large, giving it a family vibe. The staff appears genuinely devoted to their jobs, and unlike other facilities we've stayed at, they are not intrusive; they let you enjoy your peace and rest. The menu is thoughtfully crafted, and we admired it greatly; the pizza and local entrees, in particular, are outstanding! We also tried some local cocktail specialties like the Lavender Oat. Kudos to the chef and the mixologist! A special shout-out to our dear friends Guavar and Rohim, who shared valuable insights about the local area. Regarding the tranquility: the property is situated in a quiet part of the coast, with only three other establishments nearby. Occasionally, you might hear some distant music, but earplugs can easily resolve that if needed. During our stay, one of the neighboring pubs had a party that was quite loud, but we didn’t mind; it turned out to be fun as some of the hotel staff joined in! The property also features a pool, which looked nice and clean, though we didn’t use it—perhaps next time! Additionally, there is a well-maintained garden that is carefully tended to every morning and night. The road leading to the hotel is unpaved but you can easily reach the city center on foot in about 10 minutes or by scooter in under 5 minutes.

IndiaBreakfast spread was ok. You have to order eggs, pancakes, sausages etc and the staff and we were disappointed with the service. Each time we ordered eggs with the staff (such as no black pepper for the kids), they would get it wrong - 4 days in a row! One sausage order is 2 tiny sausages and you have to order multiple times.
The rooms were clean and modern

United KingdomPool is tiny. Space in resort is a bit squeezed. The price set expectations for a bigger pool and more space. Price could be adjusted to reflect those two elements appropriately. Either ways, excellent experience, and we just didn’t use the pool.
Beautiful rooms! Aesthetically tasteful and very clean! Beach access is perfect! Great breakfast. Restaurant “Uma by the Sea” was a delightful surprise. Chef Ali is very talented and the food is refined - be it Goan or World food. The service was top notch. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

The design is inspiring, the facilities are great and well-maintained, the rooms clean and spacious. The location is great, close to the beach, nice restaurants around and remote enough to enjoy a peaceful stay. 10/10 would recommend!

IndiaThe bed was too soft for our preference, but the sofa bed was quite huge and perfect. The access road was quite painful with the potholes due to rain. Hopefully it will be repaired in the next few months.
We stayed here for 4 nights with our dog in a rainy week of July. It is right at the beach, the sound of the sea was a constant grounding element. The room was big enough to put our dog's bed and even extend their sofa-cum-bed. Though off season and under renovation, the restaurant provided us with amazing breakfast (all items that you'd expect in a buffet) and delicious hot room-service! There was good wi-fi, small but clean pool and very friendly and attentive staff. All in all a great comfortable option at the beach. Should be quite happening during full tourist season!
