We spent five unforgettable days at Rainforest in Athirapally in February 2025, and from the moment we arrived, we knew it was a special place. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, and the view of the waterfalls is simply breathtaking. The rooms are spacious and airy, with thoughtful touches like handmade soap. We also really appreciated the hotel’s commitment to sustainability—no plastic bags or cutlery, and dim lighting at night to avoid disturbing wildlife. The swimming pool was another highlight. It’s kept crystal clear and cleaned every morning, and swimming with the waterfalls in the background is an experience in itself. Being surrounded by forest, we spotted sambar deer, leaf birds, wild boars, and giant squirrels—it felt like being in the heart of nature. But what truly made our stay special was the service team, especially Zakhir and Suresh, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care made all the difference, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Rainforest felt like home away from home, and we can’t wait to come back.

Sitting out and watching that waterfall is almost priceless (although they did manage to price it!) staff are very kind and welcoming.

A very special place. Quite unique. Fantastic views. Charming, helpful staff. Good food. Great breakfasts. Gorgeous rooms, very clean and well appointed all overlooking the waterfall. Good walks all around. Lovely Spa, reasonably priced, they will give you a discount if you ask. We took a short walk down to the Tree House (they will give you a key if it is not booked). We had sundowners there, delightful! The hotel is alcohol free so Bring your own drinks. It is also plastic free - highly commendable! Highly recommend even if it is rather expensive………. But there’s nothing like it.

There's nothing as such to not like.

The location is simply out of the world. 100/10 for that. The staff is very good . Food was also amazing there was variety in the food. All meals are covered in the price it was all worth it. The ambience of the place is calm and relaxing. It is very well designed.

Poorly maintained - Leaking balcony, cockroach in room, dirty pool, mediocre food options, really really small property with nothing to do but watch the waterfall for 24 hours. Overpriced.

Dirty swimming pool, fixed food menu.

My experience in rain forest Welcome given on a very rude manner. Welcome drinks and snacks were given but before even we finish it the manager was in a hurry to put us in our room. Since there was an vip guest they want to be present there and treated us very rudely. Food : menu is fixed and you can't have what u like to have. Imagine you are on a vacation and you can't even eat wat you feel like eating. Once I called for a cup of tea to reception. Back call came that tea is available in the room and you can make it with water. I insisted that i want tea with milk and sugar. Not with hot water. Another incident is that i called up reception for any pain relief oil for headache. I was surprised that the call was answered by ayurvedic doctor who is sitting on reception. Initially he said in our lab we don't have any kind of pain relief oil. And after insisting he said that i have to purchase it for 300 rs. I mean these are all some basic first aid that they should be ready in middle of the forest. Bathroom drain was fully clogged with dirt and not cleaned properly... No basic aminities like kettle, spoon, brush, paste, inside the room. And no food is allowed inside the room. (For this I guess they shud have a valid reason.) Manager was very rude in the sense he was more like ordering and not a service friendly person. I felt like a jail when there was a restriction in food menu and stict instruction to come by 8 for treaking. Apart from the view the hotel has nothing. Swimming pool was so dirty that no one could use it. May be they will treat oly vip's as their guest and not normal people who book the room for the same price as paid by the vip's. Very disappointing behaviour by the general manager. Not worth visiting rain forest resort.
