Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaThe hotel is very basic and it is just a place to crash before you begin your Bhutan journey. Rooms are small and cleanliness is satisfactory. It does not have a lift.
The hotel is located exactly opposite the Bhutan Border/Immigration Office. So the location is excellent. Lot of street food available around the place for a quick bite. Basic amenities are provided at the hotel.

United StatesDust and the noise from the street. I would recommend to put glass in the front balcony to prevent both dust and noise. Also some rooms getting smell from the kitchen. Also the linens, quilt covers and Towels were too old.
Convenient location to meet friends from Bhutan, has sufficient space for private meeting, balcony is fabulously fine to get the scenic beauty of Bhutan.

BhutanAt the time of booking, we didn't know that the rooms do not have ACs. When we found out and we wanted to upgrade (on payment of applicable rate) they said they wont allow. As per your website plenty of AC rooms were available but they didn't allow. This is what bothered us the entire stay.

IndiaThe urban conditions in Jaigaon can be challenging for western sensibilities, as it is constantly VERY noisy - from 6:45AM to 9PM, and is part of the price for staying close to the Bhutan Gate. Certainly not a criticism of the Hotel, but a legitimate consideration to be weighed in relation to ease of access to exceptional local food.
Absolutely everyone that worked in the hotel was 'open-hearted' and completely congenial. Staff were completely available to provide anything that was requested. Perfect spot for overnight stop prior to crossing Bhutan Gate.

IndiaNothing that I remember.
Amazing location of the hotel. Hotel staff were very helpful and the location of the hotel is right in front of the Bhutan immigration border. I stayed with my wife and parents and the stay was very comfortable and nice rooms and neatly maintained. Good place to stay for a day or two. Food options available at less price at the hotel or nearby hotels.

NetherlandsThe rooms and the beds are quite small. Wash basin outside the bathroom is clumsy. Hot weather from the geyser is only available from the tap, not from the shower head. The bed linen was washed but nonetheless dirty, with what looked like dried blood spots, raising the fear of a possible bedbug infestation. There are cockroaches as roommates. The rooms have no windows for natural light or fresh air, quite understandable for an inner city hotel but still a minus. The booking.com listing did not specify the choice for AC / Non-AC rooms, which requesting an AC room an additional 500 INR charge was levied. In the same price range, there are other hotels in Jaigaon that offer better facilities, although they are unfortunately not available on booking.com. Also, it would be better if the Bhutan government could make exceptions for international arriving and departing travelers to stay one night before/after the visa in Phuentsholing town. Now, international travelers will either travel onward directly or stay in Jaigaon, which does not benefit the Phuentsholing hotel businesses.
The hotel is located close to Bhutan Gate which is convenient. Also for getting onward transport. The staff is friendly enough and reasonably adjustable to wishes of guests. There is simple Indian style food available. The room offers a place to stay and sleep - nothing more nothing less.
