Honestly, there wasn’t anything major to dislike. Everything from the staff to the facilities and the atmosphere was excellent. If I had to mention one thing, it would only be that I wish I could have stayed even longer!

I had the most incredible 31-night stay at SHANKAR by the SEA, and it honestly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel like family – warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect throughout my stay. The location is absolutely unbeatable – just 2 minutes from Mandrem Beach. Waking up to the sound of the waves and being surrounded by so much natural beauty felt like paradise every single day. The facilities were top-notch – clean, well-maintained, and designed to make your stay comfortable. Everything from the cozy rooms to the relaxing seating areas had a homely yet refreshing vibe. Booking is a mystery. 3 rooms with friends for 3 nights upon arrival became one room for 2 nights leaving us having to find accommodation on arrival, not great.

Nothing bad, but just a heads up: when you book, the 50% pre-payment requirement does not run through Booking.com. So to confirm your reservation, you will need Paypal or WISE.

There was a communal kitchen in which you could prepare your own food. But the food they served was great too! In fact, I was able to spend some time in the kitchen to learn local recipes from the chef. There also is lots of space so chill out, even a space to do yoga (with a view) and they have yoga mats available.

The location is perfect, by the beach. The staff care and are very attentive. Strong Internet, the cleaning levels are high and the beds are comfortable. No it's not 'The Ritz' but for 'Back packer' prices. It's one of the best value 'bang for buck' places in Goa.

Room B3 had a disgusting smell of toilet, when is told stuff about it they didn't look surprised. The flow was dirty and dusty. My husband couldn't sleep over the night a left after midnight because of the smell. I had to be on the beach early morning, so i slept over. It was not possible to open the window for fresh air because there were no mosquito nets.

It is my second time in this hotel and at this time i was very disappointed because of the smell and cleaners of my room

The bathroom door does not close anymore. The shower drain was full of hair and dirt, water could not drain at all until I actually removed the plug. The sink overflows needs a good clean too.

The Hotel is close to all sorts of restaurants and main attractions. The beach is just a 5 minutes walk. The room I got is quite large has a wardrobe, table and chairs and a cool little balcony also with a table and 2 chairs. The AC works well and silently when the „Sleep“ button is activated. There is nice hot water but needs at least one minute fully opened to arrive. The hotel is rather good value for money compared to what is available around the area.

Spent 4 nights in apartment, wi:fi signal was good, hot water pressure nice, room was clean and big for family stay 👍🏽 It’s fresh air so even with a/c off we slept comfortable We got nice support with Russian card advance payment, good taxi from new airport (1500 rs), manager responded quickly to our requests

There was a bit of termite dust from one of the beds on the floor by the end of the stay so there might be termites in some of the wooden furniture.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable enough. We got clean towels and toiletries. The bathroom was clean with hot water available at all times. The room was well lit with natural light and the balcony was a great place to sit around. The staff were super friendly and helpful and were available 24/7 at service. The common kitchen was a great place to cook our own food with most utensils available and the view from the dining area at the common kitchen was amazing overlooking the beach.

There is no elevator in the building.

I would like to appreciate the staff first, we have booked a non AC room but humidity made us upgrade to the AC room. Staff helped us with an upgrade at a reasonable cost. The room was clean and spacious. They have an in-house kitchen now and the food quality is decent. The location of the hotel is perfect for the people who look for peace and serenity.No unwanted local vendors. Less crowded beach , ample of good food options. Dunes and sunset waves resort were our go-to places for dinner. In case one feels to enjoy a live environment then walk 400 mts towards the right and you'll get one. All North Goan beaches are in the range of 5-6 km. ( Arambol, ashvem) etc. Overall I find it good.

Lovely location ideal for beach and amenities... lovely trees around ..feels like you are in the jungle.... Amazing friendly staff who go overboard to help you with anything.. So glad I booked this hotel and it's a great price for the location..

It is very uncomfortable to pay 50% of price in advance in indian ruppee and it means to send it through bank transfer. The hotel doesn't take credit cards. Also communication was difficult. We wanted to change one room before our arrival (double room for double room with sea view) and it was not possible without cancellation of whole reservation (5 rooms). Some indian staff was very lazy (looking to mobile phone instead of cleaning the room) and we had to wait before it was possible to accommodate.

Great location. Almost everything was fine, some persons of staff tried to fulfill our needs. Good communication with reception desk on site.
