Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

It can get very hot during summers. AC works well but needs to be switched on by the manager beforehand - so it may not be available at times. They had a fridge but it was not working.
This place is optimal for solo travelers, especially girls. Very clean and safe. The owner is very courteous and professional and the staff is well-behaved. Free chai for everyone in the morning! And the restaurant just across the street is excellent. Close to the railway station, in a quiet area, third floor with lift. Am excellent options for a stay in Vadodara

Nice stay here. It has everything you need. You can lock up your whole bag, the owner will happily offer you tea when you like, location is great. Don’t expect luxury, but you will be comfortable for a great price.

The dorm is clean and very near the railway station. The owner is kind and helpful. We came very early, 03:00 in the morning and the owner let us checked in with no surcharge. Slendid! If you want a budget bed in Vadodara, then Shiv Sai Dormitory must be your first consideration.

great place to stay! the location is perfect, everything you need, including the train station, is in walking distance. it’s clean and comfortable with great value for money and the staff is extremely friendly!

As a solo female traveller from the UK, it was important for me to feel safe and comfortable where I was staying. Shiv Sai Dormitory exceeded my expectations, as I not only felt safe and comfortable, but the owner was very hospitable. He was polite and helpful and even offered to drop me off to some places locally when I needed to go somewhere. Offers of masala chai was a nice touch from the owner too. The room itself was kept clean at all times, had fans and AC, and the beds were comfortable too, with ample space to store and secure luggage within the bed. Access to use the kitchen was useful, with free filtered drinking water available. To top it off, the location was central, near to the shopping areas as well as the railway station, which made it easy to travel around. I have stayed here a few times now and will do so when visiting in the future and I would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Vadodara.

A lovely friendly atmosphere. The guys who run this place are great. I'm travelling by bicycle and they let me keep it inside without a question. The place is clean and the beds are comfy. Highly recommended if you're passing through.

The location is fantastic. Good restaurants and snacks center are just few steps away. Railway station is also very close.(walkable). The owner is very understanding and helpful. He gives good suggestions for the travel in city, good restaurants, good sweet shops. Rooms are clean. Bathrooms are clean. Owner is present all the time for any help. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to my colleagues, friends and relatives.

The toilets could be kept a bit more clean of used toiletries of previous travellers.
It is located in close proximity to shopping centres, restaurants and Vadodara railway station. The owner is very helpful. It is great for backpackers and solo traveller. The dormitory was very clean, comfortable beds and clean linen.
