Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomCould do with a little bit of work to make the rooms - in particular the bathrooms - feel a bit cleaner, it’s mostly touch ups to paint work and getting rid of paint smudges on things - Initially I thought that some bits hadn’t been cleaned but then I realised it was paint smears, but took a while to realise. There are some dogs at the property who are friendly but bark quite a bit when you arrive - I didn’t mind this as I like dogs, but it may be a bit intimidating for some people.
This is a special place with rustic and relaxed vibes and a beautiful spot for meals with an ocean view. Lovely and really helpful hosts and great food. The bed was really comfy and the fan worked well and kept me cool enough. Location is out of the busy hotel areas, so it is peaceful and quiet, and there is a beautiful and very quiet beach a 10 minute walk away, alternatively Varkala is a 10-15min tuctuc ride or a 40min walk. The garden is beautiful.

IndiaIf I really need to nitpick, the room was not beach facing, but that is ok, you can walk for 10 mts to go sit in the dining area which is beach facing. the only issue i faced was with insects, sometimes these used to come inside the room, but I guess that is something one needs to deal with if they want to stay very close to nature.
the hosts were great & very respectful. the food was like home food. the overall property is just on the beach & very peaceful. the dining area where you have food, that is beach facing.

The location right in front of Edeva beach is very serene and peaceful. The owners and staff will do everything to make you feel at home. If you are looking for a chill out place away from the crowned Varkala cliff beach this is it (even though easily accessible on foot in 25mn). I love this place and I’ll be back. Thanks to all at Sukriti. Shanti shanti.

This beachfront resort offers a picturesque setting for mesmerizing sunsets. The wholesome, fresh, and reasonably priced food adds to the delightful experience. Mr. Shaji's helpful nature, especially in providing safe transportation contacts for a solo female traveler, contributes to a truly memorable stay.

BelgiumWhat a great place to stay if you want some rest. Lovely and helpfull staff with a great attitude towards their guests. Location-wise this place has a lot to offer. Peaceful, close to a small beach where not a lot of people are to be found. The madam also made me feel at home! A sweet and interesting lady that loves what she is doing. The perfect location, set within a beautiful lush garden. Very peaceful and relaxing, but only a 30 minute walk from the bustle of Varkala beach. Spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Very nice, helpful hosts, freshly cooked food and an excellent massage. Would love to return. Thank you.

IndiaEverything was as expected.
The best part of the stay was the location and the hospitality offered by Seji. If you're a beach person, you'd love the location. You can open the door to land yourself on the beach. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The food being served is also quite good. You can walk along the coast to reach the Varkala cliff as well. Definitely heading back there if I ever revisit Varkala.

United KingdomWould be helpful to know following before booking- not on property summary; . No hot water . Can’t eat in your room . Remote, no local shop and 30-50 minutes to restaurants of Varkala beach. 400 rupee autorickshaw . No alcohol allowed . 8 dogs on site, not a problem , bark and bark at you and follow you to your room when you come in each evening, not too relaxing. Blurb about security, never had this in other places and it’s a compact site, 8 dogs? Owner sylvana very nice Italian woman likes dogs, that’s fine. . Garden nice but kind of shabby, no nice corners to relax or nice furniture, a couple of badly positioned basic hammocks, looked uninviting. My room was described as tea and coffee maker, walk in shower sea view. - basic wet room, no t/C maker or kettle and no sea view , big bush blocking this. You need to order food containing meat a day in advance , and veg lasagne- day I arrived had a basic pasta in tomato sauce, great bruschetta though. Coffee is instant Nescafé, shame for an Italian place., surely fair-trade filter coffee wouldn’t be that hard? Room basic, that’s fine but no tlc, bare lightbulbs, no curtain on high up side window and very thin on lower front window. Both also had ugly grills so very little light let in except at night when lights from next door meant room never got dark and was light at dawn. Bed is made of coconut matting- very hygienic and eco Davy but rock hard. A set of rules on back of door about silence etc, none of it very welcoming The location is so nice and none of the individual issues are deal- breakers but added together it’s just not very nice . And at 3, 800 rupee a night its 1000 more than similar places I stayed that just do the natural eco thing so much better. Got the impression it hasn’t had any money spent on it for a while which is a shame as really could be nice . Btw, I am in the minority when u read the reviews but this is an honest review and hope is helpful. .
Wanted to love this place as been staying in basic and eco - friendly places back packing across India. Location right by small beach and sea path great, albeit 30 minutes walk to north cliff, 50 to south. Very nice manager sujesh and good baked bread . Water refills.

Hungary- Hard bed - Nothing to do in the area. Far from everything. - Expensive for what you get - Ceiling fan weak - No toiletries, just a bar of soap - Owners 8 dogs. Woken up on 3 separate nights by dogs barking (even when using earplugs) - Food basic. Nothing to get excited about. - Weak/intermittent internet
+ Quiet area (apart from dogs) + Palm trees and garden + Saji is a nice man (Gave us an upright fan when we mentioned the weak ceiling fan) + You can hear the waves.
