Food not being available was a problem for us as we could not find many restaurants for morning breaks fast in the nearby locations. Also staff was not around much. Did not cause much issues but would be good if they are arojnd to attend to any needs

Given there was a lot of renovation ongoing and we're the only guests on the property at the time, we were personally a bit worried about the security. But when we called the host, they were quick to assure us that the hosts and staffed lived on the premise in a different quarter.

Honestly when we entered the premise, the ground floor was under renovation and we were fairly disappointed, but the host and the staff helped turn it over by providing a room on the top floor, which met our requirements. The room offered high speed internet and a smart TV, and the property allows swiggy/ zomato deliveries. Cocoon is quite scenic with beautiful lichee trees all around and lawns where we played foot ball and frisbee.The location is quite close to the india hikes pick up point.Additionally it is close to good restaurants such as rajwadi / haldiram ( walkable ) you can get an auto to the famed paltan bazaar. The hosts and staff were always attentive and reachable

The rooms which we had booked were located on the ground floor and what we saw in the pics at the time of booking isnt how the rroms looked when we got there which was around 9 pm in the night. the rooms especially the bathrooms were a bit run down and need to be upgraded.Then we were shown the rooms on the 1st floor which were modern , especially the bathrooms and were told by the caretaker that if we want to move upstairs then we need to pay extra.Note that there is no change in the size of the rooms on the ground floor and first floor . Its just that the decor of the rooms and bathrooms are done up better than the ground floor ones. We moved to the 1st floor. But felt that transparency is key when booking as we want value for our money. We had to pay 1500 /- more to move into the room upstairs.Also read a review nearly 5 years back after we returned t Mumbai which highlighted the same issue of transparency. The owners haven't upgraded their rooms in the last 5 years from the looks of it to address this concern.

Location was good. Very centrally located . Dehradun railway station was 10-15 mins from the property. Good green cover with plenty trees surrounding the property. The staff were kind enough to arrange breakfast in the garden sit out area during our stay. The hostess Bhagyashree is a charming lady who welcomed us warmly and recommended eateries nearby which were really nice and also suggested tourist attractions to visit.

It's calm & serene

The hotel is located in the midst of nature. It's inside the town but has it's own natural beauty around it. Beautiful to spend time indoors & outdoor.

If the hot water geyser had worked, and I did not need to have a cold-water bath at 6am, the stay would have been perfect. The owner did say turn it on early, at least half an hour before, I waited an hour.

They served an excellent breakfast but it couldn't be arranged before 9:15 AM, that was the earliest timing for having breakfast in the hotel.

We stayed at the Cocoon twice and had a great experience. Its quite an oasis on a busy street. The rustic building in between the orchard gives a sense of calm. The hosts are very approachable. I particularly loved the breakfast options. The staff were kind to set up a table for us on the lawn to enjoy the morning sun. The rooms are sufficiently spacious and do have air-conditioning as well as heater options. We picked this hotel as it was close to the pick-up location of our trek and would highly recommend it for anyone who's looking for a clean, budget hotel in the area.

Stayed here for 2 nights in Sept 2022 as a solo trekker. Best place in Dehradun - good value for money, safe and clean. 1. Good location - 40 mins to the Airport. Barely 250 mtrs from pickup point of IndiaHikes treks. 2. Kind and helpful hosts - Ms. Bhagyashree & Mr. Sanchit. They take care of you like a Family member. 3. Rooms are neat and clean. 4. Home cooked food - vegetarian & healthy. Also, easy to order delivery from other restaurants. 5. Lot of garden/lawn and fruit trees. Beautiful environment.

The location is not the most convenient, though not too bad. It would have been fine, if only Dehradun didn't have such terrible traffic and walkability...

This place is a strong contender for the best I've stayed at anywhere in India. It's no frills in terms of being more like a homestay than a hotel, and the lobby etc. are minimal, though there are very nice grounds with a large lawn and lush litchi and mango trees. As for the room itself, I think the deluxe rooms in particular are of the standard of a good 3- or 4-star hotel, and hence are very good value for money. The furnishings are tasteful, the fittings, plumbing etc. are all of good quality, and in general there is a level of attention to detail that is rare in India especially. I think it's more than worth the upgrade from the standard rooms -- which are not bad, but the deluxe rooms are just a lot nicer aesthetically and have several small add-ons which together make it a really substantive improvement, in my view.

The two omni-present dogs on the premises...while enjoyable to some, we as a family, are averse to pets and hence we had to be extra watchful and restrained while moving around the premises...
