Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I believe nothing, my opinion only.
Everything was great.. Beautiful turn of the century building with funky manual lift. Clean and comfortable room. Big and spacious, great wifi. A/C works great for size of the room. Bed extremely large and comfortable. Terrace is lovely to read or just relax. Secure location, opposite US embassy. Building security is excellent, door to residence always locked and only open by staff. Security and staff all wonderful, helpful and extremely welcoming. Breakfast cooked to order, good selection changes every day. Chef onsite is an added bonus for only three rooms. Mini bar added bonus. Value for money. Park Street close by and several top class restaurants share same premises. Feels very much like a home stay. A locked cupboard to store personal belongings. Despite previous reviews, there are CCT cameras and I found it to be extremely safe and staff honest.

The building is a leftover legacy from the British days as is the rickety elevator ! But that added to the ambiance of the place. It may not be everyone's cup of tea!
The Harrington Residency is a gem of a find - small, clean, excellent staff who served delicious breakfasts the 3 days we were there. Extremely safe location. Near to shops and restaurants.

Entrance and the lift can be very off putting.
Amazing place and great service. Staying in an art gallery is special. Very chilled out place. Great location, right at the heart of Kolkata. Highly recommended.

Ac leaked water on the bed
Beautiful house, perfect location which is central but relatively quiet. The housekeeper was very helpful providing an umbrella and pointing to a nice place to eat. It was reasonable clean and had a nice freshly baked breakfast.

It is located just opposite to US Consulate and a secured zone. The building is a heritage and the Harrington team are very cordial and warm. Thanks for your hospitality.

The entry to the lodging to the second floor is dirty and ominous! Staff were very nice but spoke little English.
The rooms are spacious and wonderful balcony area. The owner/manager was off-site but was very accommodating when I requested a late check-out.

The rooms lack a little charm, therefore a little overpriced. A sign at the entrance to the multi-purpose building would be useful.
A good, safe starting point for Kolkata, excellently located in the Park Street area. Nice shared balcony/gallery, with comfortable seats to relax. Good breakfast.

The room was lovely, there was a huge, fabulous marble balcony with comfortable tables and chairs to relax on. The breakfast provided was huge. You could eat whatever you liked. The location was good.

The staff were incredible, the owner Mrs Khullar and her team were amazing, so helpful and made our stay very special. The location was very convenient for getting around the sights, but quiet and away from the chaotic streets of Kolkata. The diverse restaurants within the building complex of The Harrington were truly magnificent and a real bonus , recommended by Mrs Khullar .

This place oozes old world charm. It has only 3 rooms that were part of a huge mansion. The room itself is huge and very comfortable. The high ceilings and lighting give it charm. The staff are attentive and the included breakfast is very good You feel like you have your own personal chef. The area is relatively quiet and very safe as you have the USA consulate opposite.

The room was huge, very clean and comfortable. The included breakfast, cooked to one's specifications, was very good. Communication with the owner was easy and everything worked well, including the airport transfer and daily car service. Highly recommended.
