How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Noise level by children trying to play foot ball in corridors or playing in the dining hall, especially when the hotel property has separate spaces for these recreational activities. Verified reviewSome of the frontline staff were very friendly. We needed a personal care item that they didn't have on prem and they sent someone to purchase it for use.
There was construction on site that was not mentioned at the time of booking. The property was not clean and proper as other Leelas I've been to. When i shared feedback with the manager about my stay the manager offered me a partial reimbursement (I didn't ask for one - it was completely voluntary). There was no reimbursement..would have preferred that the hotel not make promises they don't keep.
Dear Guest, Namaste! Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback with us. We are truly pleased to learn that our frontline colleagues were able to extend their warmth and care to make your stay more comfortable. We have also taken note of your observations regarding the construction, cleanliness, and partial reimbursement. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. Verified reviewThis is by far the best hotel I have stayed in. The ambience created really does feel like Jaipur vibes. Staff were very warm and friendly, they had activities like cultural dance, puppet show and pottery making for the guests which were amazing! Hotel is comfortable, breakfast had a huge spread with a flute guy playing in the background, he is so talented! Overall it was a 12/10, would definitely recommend!
Nothing, everything was perfect!

Verified reviewThe Hotel had an impressive decor like a Leela property is expected to have. The Best part of the stay was the magnificent meal at the Mohan Mahal. The food and the service here was impeccable!!
The property was old.. and very worn out, the AC water was dripping all over the coffee shop during breakfast, the carpet in our Villa was mouldy & had a damp smell, the marble was badly stained in the bathroom & chipped in the stairs etc The service of the staff also left a lot to be desired. They did not seem to be very well trained especially at the Coffee shop. Staff at check in were also not very well informed and borderline impolite.

Verified reviewQuality of food was good. But while leaving for my room after breakfast, I noticed that flies were roaming around in the kitchen and over the food, which took me aback. The taste was good though.
A long list First of all, the electricity backup was very poor. In my 24 hour stay, atleast 15 times the power went off. Once when I was in the lift with my wife! The generator always took like half a minute to turn the power on, which was a disappointment. I stayed in Tai Amer, just a day ago, and despite them also being in the same area, they had UPS running, which never let light being cut off. When I spoke to Leela's admin, they said it's a problem with the Rajasthan Electricity board's supply! That's a very casual reply, considering the same board supplies electricity to Taj also, and had no issues. Probably because of better arrangements. 2) Saw flies roaming in the kitchen and over the breakfast food. They definitely haven't done good pest control arrangements. 3) The in room service. I had to dial atleast 10 times to the in room dining service which for some reason, picked up calls and then hung them up. I spoke to the reception for transferring the line, but again once transferred the same phone call gets hung up. Eventually, my wife had to go all the way downstairs, since we were really hungry and it was late, and then scold the people responsible. I finally got the phone call in my room, and they took my order. The food came after another 45 minutes vigil, and I ordered ice cubes which they gave without a tong. Then had to wait another half an hour to finally receive the tong and start munching. Ultimately the food was OK enough to satisfy our hunger but not something our tongue's senses were excited to taste. All in all probably the hotel did their best, and it was their bad fortune, that we just had a far better experience in the same hotel category and in the same region.

Verified reviewWide selection of food at buffet both indian and international.
- The staff: we constantly felt like a problem to the staff throughout our stay. We arrived early on our first day, in time for a quick breakfast, and had to pay the full price of the buffet despite arriving there just in time for a rushed service and feeling like a nuisance while the staff was cleaning around us (our package included breakfast in the price, and the Leela in Udaipur offered it to us in the same scenario). Later, there were waiters outside of the dinner restaurants asking us whether we’d like to go buffet or a la carte, but did not even know the price of buffet per person ("I think 3000 but you have to ask my colleague inside" - turned out to be 3500 equivalent to 35 euro, with unmentioned charges adding up to 48 euro per person at the end, service charges etc). Five stars? - The rooms: one word OUTDATED. They do not match the 5 star standard neither, have stayed in countless 5 star hotels worldwide and never seen this level of negligence and low maintenance, the rooms are really deserving a 3-star or motel rating at most. Room lock did not work, rainfall shower head did not work and let out a drainage odor at attempted use, room smelled stale. Balcony door had a huge crack on top letting in mosquitos and other insects, and Balcony was not usable due to pigeon droppings and feathers, not cleaned before our check-in nor later. Windows were all dirty and clearly not cleaned. The hall and staircase of the building we stayed in smelled of MOLD, a terrible moist stale smell that made us dread every entrance/exit to and from the room. One day it rained and a white rug was placed at entrance - nice touch, but it was not removed later, leaving a dirty rug there for us to step over each time (photo). Extra beds/trash/vacuum cleaners etc laying around the stairs (see photos) - when reported to reception, the guy told us its typical for resort type hotels, as they cannot carry extra beds between buildings on demand….
