Noisy room with the chatter of people outside on the road throughout night. The wooden windows aren’t tight shut. Especially with the silent AC, we hear every single conversation from the lane below and couldn’t sleep at all. Finally the staff could place a pedestal fan with which we could sleep. Secondly, the room has a faulty power-card set up. It keeps switching on and off. Thankfully the AC is not on the same line, it kept running. Ooof the TV couldn’t be powered off. Only can turn off on remote. With every power on/off, the TV turns on with bright Samsung blue screen as suddenly the entire room is lit, this kept repeating until the staff removed the TV, severing all power cables. We even advised to take the TV out. We had to literally forgo 3 hrs of night’s sleep. For the money being charged, this is NOT AT ALL expected from a Hidesign brand. Room no 15.

Staff are young and a bit inexperienced. They are very warm and friendly - but could be better trained. The superior room is very tight for 3 people - with an extra bed there is almost no space to walk around. So unless the third person is a child - a party of 3 should get two rooms or the suite

Location.location. Location. It's on the promenade with a lovely courtyard. The cafe is nice and the staff are young and very warm. They reached out the day before check in to inform us about car parking / valet arrangements

The Suite could have been better equipped. Slightly larger would have been preferable for the price charged

Hotel staff is not courteous enough (Receptionists are rude) and the management doesn't seem to be interested in taking corrective measures.

Beggers on the road of the property cause too much noise in the night and was not able to have a good sleep , we even conplained at the reception but it didnt do anything abt it

Room - big and well appointed but needs maintenance. bathrooms should be upgraded and cleaned thouroughly.

Location - Excellent , beach facing and probably the best in area. very near to all major landmarks and walking distance to white town. very nice restaurants nearby. Breakfast - decent spread with lots of options. patisserie goods are really yummy. Inhouse Dining is the star here. they provide excellent seafood options. we had the most awesome lobster served. Small pool but lot of fun. Overall , i highly recommend it,

It’s a beachfront property by hi design(pudicherry’s renowned leather brand )in white town. It’s very well maintained.staff are very friendly. Food was great.

Roof terrace restaraunt although fine has quite a high level glass screen around perimeter which is grubby and it obsures what should be a great viewing area out over the sea front.

Great location on sea front, staff were really nice, breakfast was pretty good, coffee excellent. Hotel is a bit dated and could do with a bit of modernising but I suppose it gives a sense of old worldly charm that some might like. Expected this so was not a surprise and overall it met our expectations.

For the price you pay, the rooms are not upto the mark to meet international standards. Also the washrooms need renovating,, its sub standard.

The rooms need renovation of furniture and plumbing fixtures. WiFi was unstable. There was some kinda of problem in ventilation of bathroom.

As it's not a real five-star, not all are properly trained. The chef, who used to hang around outside the kitchen during breakfast, was just rude and abrasive. I understand it's not his job to deal with breakfast orders, but then what was he doing standing around outside? The person at the reception who checked us in, could do with a crash course in non-aggressive communication. I understand that a late checkout may not be possible over a weekend, but a "no" need not be accompanied by a lecture.

It is possibly one of the best in terms of location. Situated on the promenade, which is closed to traffic, with clear views of the ocean from the rooms, or most of them. Being there on January 26, gave us a ring side view of Republic Day celebrations. A lot of great places to visit, including many must-visit restaurants are within walking distance, Was a little concerned after reading some of the negative reviews, but realised that those probably arose from an expectation mismatch. Yes, it is over-priced and since the hotel claims to be a five star, the expectations of service are thus set. It isn't a five star, barely a four. Once that is accepted, expectations are reset. The members of the staff at the restaurant(s) are friendly and helpful, or at least most of them. A shout out to the housekeeping team as well. Breakfast was a fairly grand affair, one area where they can rival a five star hotel. Has an excellent rooftop bar, with great views, if you have the right table. Great cocktails.

No view from room despite requesting one, but I guess that’s down to availability. Pillows were ‘lumpy’, as they go when well used, and bed groaned when you got in/out! Felt a bit over priced but can’t fault the team there.

Good location right on the prom with sea views from main areas. Staff were fabulous and helpful. Food was good and the bar was a nice place to chill.
