Dorms should also be accommodated with a heater. Sinks in the washrooms should also have hot water tap.

Superb stay & evening bonfire just sets the vibe. Scenic location, a 10 min walk away from the Kempty falls. Rooms equipped with heater is a bonus and much needed.

The only thing we didn’t like was that our room windows (and doors) were not properly sealed for air so it was very cold, even with the heater they kindly provided to us. As everything got leaked out, the room wouldn’t get heated at all.

The road leading to it is a little remote. The quiet time was not observed by other guests leading to loud noise at 2am as well.

The stream flowing through the property is a highlight. . The ambiance was awesome, super chill. Vibe of the place is cool. Clean rooms and property.

The parking place is there but on returning there is a high slope which is very difficult to reach, they should have bathing kits and brush kits also and they can charge for it also.

Communication via Booking is really bad. They don't accept foreign credit cards via Booking. You need to approach them via whatsApp and it'll all work out fine.

Perfectly located hostel, indeed by a stream in a secluded valley, with super friendly staff. My private room was a really nice small house next to the stream running through the valley. The local cafetaria and bar are cool too. Depending on the crowd, some nights are really nice to socialize. It's close to the local bird reserve. I found this place to be much more reliable than some of the options listed on Booking nearby which seem to be a scam of sorts.

If you're booking with a foreign credit card, it gets bounced because they don't accept foreign cards. You'll be sent payment links via Razorpay that eventually work, but it wasn't a smooth ride for me. Don't use the booking.com communication app once you've booked, you'll be talking to a bot. They do respond to email and whatsapp rather quickly. It turned out well in the end, but this could go smoother for foreign guests. Just don't let it stop you, it's still highly recommended, and some other places in the surroundings are scams of sorts (fake names, fake reviews). So go for this one.

Fantastic hostel in a tranquil spot along a mountain stream. Plenty of places to sit outside. Private houses are super nice. The guy who runs the place is extremely friendly and helpful. Good hostel atmosphere at night. Close to the bird reserve.

Food service on this day was a bit poor and the plates were dirty. We had to ask them to clean those. The staff were not so great communicators and they always took for granted that I spoke Hindi. We looked for the staff in the reception a couple of times and did not find anyone. We again got texts and eventually, a phone call from the hosteller to make the payment then and there and was told they would be canceling our booking. It seemed like we would run away without paying though we were staying there and just changing rooms.

We stayed in a double room and as we liked staying there we decided to stay one more night and try a different room so we booked two beds in the 7-bed dormitory. The view from the dormitory window was far better than the double room. The dorm was very spacious and clean with two big glass windows which allowed a lot of sunlight to get in. It has a large terrace just in front of the dorm where you can hang around with friends and below that terrace, they have the common hall/ game center and hang-out place. We changed from a double room to a dorm and for that, they did not ask us for online check-in again which was great considering the experience we had the day before. They also helped to book a taxi to go to Dehradun and the taxi came on time even though it was raining heavily and it was early morning. The driver was really nice and came down almost to the gate of the hostel to receive us as it was raining heavily.

We booked through booking while we were on the road to Dehradun and were looking for the phone number to contact the property and to know the location, but it was very unfortunate that we did not find the contact number anywhere. We also contacted the hosteller in Dehradun for the number of the streamside property and they declined to share the number. We emailed the hosteller and we did not get a response on time. On the other hand, they were constantly sending us messages for money. Around 04:30 PM a person from Hosteller called us. We informed him that we were traveling for twenty-four hours and would be at the property shortly and asked for the location and number of the property. He told us if we did not pay in 30 minutes (by 05 PM) he would cancel the booking and he declined and said that he did not know the location of the property nor the number. Which was very unprofessional and suspicious. We almost started to believe that it was a scam and were having second thoughts. We were almost there and the cab driver assured us he would bring us back so we decided to check the place anyway. We reached there and after checking the property we decided to stay. Their system is to do online check-in and pay first. So we did all that and gave out our card for the POS machine. They charged the card but did not give us any receipt. We came into the room and after freshening up my friend went downstairs for the receipt she found out that they charged us 100 INR extra. Eventually, we had to adjust to the car rental on the way back to Dehradun. We booked a room with a balcony but the room we got did not have a balcony of its own but used the common balcony which is the entry walkway to all the rooms on that floor. That was also a bit disappointing. Moreover, if you are a budget backpacker reaching there would be costly, and if you have heavy luggage(s) going there and getting out from there might get a bit tiring as you have to walk down from the top of a hill to reach.

The location of the property is in between a stream. The place is very calm and cozy. We booked a room with a balcony and got the room on top of the reception, which seemed perfect for a couple. There were not many guests as a result it was not loud. The sound of the stream was lovely to listen to and to go to sleep. The surrounding area is very calm and quiet and very lovely to go for a stroll and the villagers are very lovely and friendly.

I found two cons in the room: -There was no electric water heater switch, so we had to bring the heater on the switch near the bed. Some electric switches are just idle and of now use because of its location -there was no exhaust fan in washroom

Pros: 1. The best part is the waterfall that goes through hosteller, it's beautiful 2. The food was very tasty and economical 3. Property was very clean and quiet

Loved this location, absolutely stunning. If you want remote and quiet then come and stay here. Easy walk to the waterfall and the creek runs through the property. Dorm rooms were OK 👍 good sized bathroom and hot water. Pretty cold here in January and rooms do t have heating but you just need to wear more clothes. Girls dorm was much more comfortable for a solo female traveller. Staff had minimal English bit were nice and helpful whe you needed. Manager very nice guy. Not near Mall Rd but always transport around to take you into town

Just that it's far from the centre and travel from proper masoori to the hostel is expensive. If you don't mind that then it's one of the best places to stay in masoori.

This hosteller has amazing views and it's very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Totally worth every penny!
