They don’t deserve a mere 5 stars/10 and it pained us to leave. Hands down the loveliest stay we had in India over the past 5 weeks. The property treats you with multiple amazing views and offers a peaceful setting which makes you feel nested in among the hills and tea plantations. And if the views, comfortable beds and warm showers are not enough, they have a fantastic team which attends to your every need. Whether you need a home-cooked meal, sightseeing tour, taxis, to recharge your Indian SIM or a surprise birthday party, they have got you covered. I wholeheartedly recommend anyone to spend a couple of days here and unwind. The investment will be well worth it!

Overall the property could do with a little more maintenance and overhauling. Looked dated and dirty in some parts. Bed Linen was dirty but got changed on request.

Through they have power backup a small generator is must. As it's hill station power cuts are frequent and it's tough to bath without geyser during prolonged power cuts. Also room heater is must owing to the location and as they dont have one its the only downside of this property.

Excellent staff. Their chef (Shyam) and support staff (Karan, Aditya & Sanam) did a great job. Guest comfort is their first preference and they always serve with a smile. These guys are the MSP of the property. Apart from the staff location is breathtaking. A silent and beautiful getaway. Please opt for balcony room for the best view in the house.

I really enjoyed my time there, there's nothing I didn't like.

The place was amazing, I was there for 2 days. We booked the deluxe balcony double room and it was great it had all the amenities. Mrs. Smitha helped us throughout the process from getting a taxi from the bus stop, getting a taxi service for both the days and taking care of all the needs if there was any issues. I'd like to specially mention Mr.Ranjit (who got us really tasty tea, so do have his tea before you leave) and all the friendly staff who hosted us for the two days. If I do get a chance to come again to Ooty, I will definitely be staying here. I highly recommend this place for families, couples and the solo travellers who are looking for a weekend getaway and wants a cozy place to stay.

Stunning views, very helpful and friendly staff, delicious homely food, lively free spirited and cozy ambience. ___ Had a wonderful weekend getaway with The Tamarillo.  A peaceful homestay nested in the quiet lovedale hillside, with a great view of the tea estate. Very friendly and helpful staff, starting with Renjith who waited to pick us up early in the morning from the arrival bus stop and dropped us late at night in ooty for our return bus. A huge thanks to Sathish for strategising our itinerary and showing us around ooty , coonoor and further outskirts. And thank you Appu for being at everyone's beck and call. Also manager Smitha for following up , coordinating and meeting us at the stay. Loved the campfire, the kittens, the garden and kudos to the chef for giving great homely food. Idli and sambhar. ❤️

Impeccable service, providing everything you think you need and more. Beautiful surroundings accompanied both stunning views. And many little perks, such as the firepit provided each evening. Has a great feeling of you being an individual, unlike the other large hotels. If you are going to Ooty, you would be crazy to not choose The Tamarillo.

The only thing we did not like was having to leave!

It was quiet and beautiful. A home away from home. The staff were so helpful and friendly. It was clean and comfortable. They organised taxis and sightseeing. The food was good. We loved the outdoor fire in the evenings. A relaxing time that we will treasure in our memories.

Would have been nice to have a comfortable swinging chair on the upper terrace rather than just the dining chairs

Lovely friendly stay with incredible views. Shek and the boys were very helpful and I did a sightseeing tour with him too. The place is so peaceful. You can walk down into the town though no pavements and it can be very busy. Food was excellent and with a view from the balcony over the tea plantation. Hot water. Blankets for the chilly nights. Table and chairs on a little terrace outside the room.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Tamarillo. It is in the perfect location to appreciate the tranquil side of Ooty and the mountain views are beautiful. We enjoyed a really good, peaceful walk from the hotel with good directions given to us by the staff. The food served was very good and the staff are excellent. They are very attentive and always around if you need something but also don’t disturb you so you can relax. The WiFi is also very good.
