We had a couple of problems when we arrived but the staff sorted them very quickly. The food is very good and reasonable in the restaurant. The room was clean and right by the pool / restaurant. The only downside is the pool surround is waiting for new tiles so it was a bit concrète and dusty. The staff makes this place and special mention to the concierge who took our cases both ways in a wheelbarrow. The position is great, 5 mins from restaurants and shops and only 15 mi s walk from the beer shop.

Simple clean good rooms. Lovely pool. Close to beach and shops and restaurants but quiet and calm . Great stripy swimming towels , very friendly staff. Handy restaurant in pool area. Definitely recommend.

The room was very dated and expensive for fan only. The pool area needs a luck of paint at least although the pool was very refreshing.

This small friendly hotel was the perfect stay for us. Staff were friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was kept clean and there were plenty of sunbeds. Within few minutes walk from the beach. Food was good and well priced.

First time difficult to find. Typical reasonable Indian hotel. When all or most rooms are occupied I don’t see how they are going to cope with the pool and the restaurant.

Secluded, quiet and friendly. Restaurant serves a good and healthy variety of breakfast . They don’t participate in the Ayurveda “craze” of Kovalam.

The floor area around the pool is dirty, and the pool itself has a few tiles missing, so it looks rather shabby but usable. The curtains are thin in the room, and the hotel is well lit outside room 104 , so we put bath sheets over the curtains so we could sleep.The fridge wasn't working but within 10 minutes another one was in the room.

The closeness to the beach and nice restaurant/cafe .The staff are the best as if you come across a problem it is immediately dealt with ,which I haven't had in a 4 star hotel. The hotel is only a 2 star, so don't expect luxury .It's basic with a decent WiFi, which you have to reconnect to when you've been out, but it works .Basic british news on the TV and a reasonably kitted bathroom .Some are old, and some are refurbished, but they are usable .The pool is warm and in 37.temp you need it The food isn't overpriced, and it's tasty .There are 2 small cats which are allowed if you want to see them ...I requested to see them and they are lovely .With the views and the sea just 2 minutes walk away and the cheap price what's not to like .We have rebooked for Christmas as the staff are faultless, and nothing is ever too much trouble.

No air circulation as there are higher buildings all around. It was sulky even in December. Car parking is around 300 meters away. So we didn't travel around much as the thought of taking out the car and going uphill towards the main road with high traffic during the Christmas season didn't enthuse us. The water level at the swimming pool was from four and a half to six feet and our kids couldn't make much use of it. Definitely not a good place for senior citizens. There is very little space outside of the building premises to walk and relax. It would be good if sheets and towels are changed daily without being asked. Good toiletries can be provided (only one small Chadrika soap is there)

The staff were extremely cordial and responded cheerfully to our requests. The food served at the restaurant was good and safe. The beach (Howa Beach) is just 100 meters away. The rooms and premises were generally clean. It's a good place if your purpose is to relax and enjoy the beach and the pool. They provide car parking passes and luggage is transported to the hotel. Good restaurants are around but as expected, are costly. They are mainly looking to cater to foreigners. Free wifi is provided, but we did not use it much

Our shower didn't work properly. The room was small and a bit outdated. The AC worked well but kept a loud noise.

The pool was great. It's clean and in good condition. Staff was really nice and friendly. Good location, almost at the beach.

As others have pointed out, the direct route to the beach is only a couple of minutes, but isn't very nice (narrow, dark, water sometimes dripping on you), but there are other routes which don't take much longer. The direct route to the excellent Lonely Planet veggie restaurant also has its problems, mainly with smelly rubbish, but again there are other routes there. It wasn't clear what options there might be for lunch or dinner. It would be nice if there was information provided as to what times, and how to book this. But of course the beach side options aren't far away.

Wonderful pool, a life saver in the March hot weather. Really helpful, friendly staff. Comfortable beds, great shower, clean all round. What more do you need? And value for money is second to none.

The small road that connect to the beach to the hotel is very dirty, i know it is not own by the hotel but they should realized that by having it cleaned up would increase the value of the hotel. It is not so big thing just broom it every morning would take 30 minutes.

The bathroom is a bit old. Water turned warm after some time but the water pressure could be better.

The owner and the staff was very friendly. The pool is nice and big and our room had a spacious balcony. Room was nice and clean. Is is a little bit hidden in the backalleys and because of that it was very nice and quiet. The beach is very close and you will be there within a minute. A very nice hotel with good price. Entry to this hotel is very bad. Car will not go near to the hotel.and you have to walk through dirty water logged narrow path. Transport to city is very difficult.

Kovalam is only 30 minutes from the International Airport in Trivandrum. Hotel Thushara is a perfect place for relax. Silence, good food, clean water in the swimming pool. Short walking distance to the main beach. People from Thushara hotel can organize trips around, They organized for us a boat trip from Alleppey to backwaters cannals. Hotel staff is very helpful

Wonderful people, nice room above the pool with balcony which was perfect for drying swim wear. The pool itself was amazing, towels always available and very quiet now we are towards the end of the season and being behind the beach front buildings. The beach itself was only a minute or so walk. Excellent value and we would definitely book again.

Excellent hotel with great staff. My flight and arrival time was severely delayed and I arrived very late at night for check-in. They made it seem no trouble at all. Excellent communication at all times
