Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNoise - City traffic noise, constant sound of vehicle horns during daytime can be heard owing to poorly fitted window frame with gaps at sides. City fumes can be smelt owing to poorly fitted window frame. Mosque next door. Very short loud call to prayer heard. Two nights running occupants of large family room next door (room number 302) played television, talked and shouted loudly until 02:30 in the morning. Hotel staff spoke twice with occupants but this had no effect. Cheap hotel price maybe attracts some badly behaved and inconsiderate customers. Following night at 23:00, sounds of banging and then furniture being scrapped across the floor heard. Hotel reception informed and investigated. Adjacent rooms unoccupied. Possibly noise from floor above, occupied by landlord. The building is advertised as a hotel. The actual building functions as a hotel on only three of five floors. Other floors are either derelict or used as office space / unknown usage. First floor is derelict area Second floor is the reception and some rooms. Third floor is half office space and has five ooms. Fourth floor unknown purpose but no rooms. Fifth floor unknown purpose but no rooms Cleanliness- Toilet and wardrobe shelves required a thorough clean by housekeeper before use. Amazing housekeeper resolved issues immediately. Decor - Visually the hotel is in a very dirty, poor, worn and tired looking state. This is a very simple issue to resolve, just needs the all the walls to be freshly painted. And a good well maintained cleaning schedule. From ground floor it is not an inviting feeling.
Situated in central area. Lift and stairs. 24 hour reception. Comfortable bed. Hot water heater. Room was spacious. Hotel decor is very tired. Daily housekeeping. Daily 1L complimentary water Shower gel sachets and small bars of soap provided. Toilet paper not provided. Air conditioning and ceiling fan. Television. Bedside telephone. Chair. Positive aspects - All staff were very friendly and very helpful. Housekeeping team were amazing. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast served in room. Toast, omelette, tea or coffee and carton of juice. Was it worth it? - Yes, for the price in an expensive central area of the city. Cheapest we could find in the area. Who is it suited for? - All travellers on a budget, seeking a comfortable bed and hot shower, in a convenient central city but noisy location. Not ideal for light sleepers even wearing ear plugs. Quick tip - Choose a quieter room on third floor at rear of hotel not facing the street. Room number 303 was spacious with a double bed.

United KingdomThe entrance to the building is incredibly scruffy and off a busy motor mechanics side street - persevere beyond this and the hotel is fine. Breakfast was good but served in the room, and the agreed time was obviously viewed as flexible - not good if you are on a tight schedule.
Good location at the quieter end of park street Staff were friendly Room was clean with hot water and WiFi

United KingdomDirty walls, very run down, loose wires coming out of ceiling, walls, bathroom, plate size hole in the wall in the bathroom to the outside. We were supposed to have got an upgrade for paying 50% of the bill early - if that was an upgrade I’d hate to see what the basic room looks like. Lasting impression- grubby. Won’t be staying there on our return to Kolkata
The staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was good.

IndiaThe location is a bit laid off. It's near to a cemetary and at the end of Park Street. It is 1.5 kms away from the Park Station metro. No local autos ferry on the route. You need to take a cab incase you don't have a personal vehicle. The location is a big lay off and it is in front of a garage. On the first day, we had difficulty finding the property. The outside building is dirty. It could use some painting and reconstruction work.
The room was large and spacious. The bed was King size. The room was neat and clean, though the bedsheets looked crumpled up and a bit stained. The bathroom was clean without any bad odour. Complimentary breakfast had only one option, but was satisfactory and tasty. All basic facilities were in the room, which also included complimentary drinking water. We could also see foreign tourists staying in the same property. Staff was generous and warm hearted.

IndiaLift and other common areas are super unclean. Sheets are not very clean but manageable. Toiletries only provided when asked. Same goes with coffee maker. Due to some confusion, I had to pay extra money so get your booking clarified beforehand.
Hotel location is good. It is near to US visa embassy (both offices), Parkstreet (2km), near to Seldah railway station as well. It is kinda safe place. Staff is good and helpful.
