Our stay was an absolute delight, mostly because the staff acted like we were long-lost relatives instead of just another check-in. They were so incredibly pleasant and accommodating. The room itself was a fluffy nd comfortable. . And the food—oh, the food was a whole other experience. It was so delicious that my "I'll just have a little" plan went right out the window. Seriously, this place is worth it just for the food alone; the incredible staff and comfy room are just a bonus.

The hotel in Thiruvananthapuram feels not too different from anywhere else. Being someone who lived in the city and returning to it 2 decades later, the hotel experience seemed very generic. Of course the people and food options gave it the local flavour, but the design, look, feel and experiences were mundanely global. (wonder if it's a reason to complain). The hotel is located in a by-lane, off the main roads and has nothing really to offer - sights, shopping, street food, etc - within casual walking distance.
Vivanta ticks all the boxes of a good premium hotel - stylish, efficient, reasonably indulgent and hospitable. The hotel is a safe bet for anyone unfamiliar with the place since it is located in the central cultural zone of the city and will give you the familiarity and predictability of the Taj hotel group. Rooms are stylish, comfortable and well equipped. Ticks all the boxes here too. Breakfast spread was really good. I'd have loved to try more dishes since there were enough options across all cuisines - local dishes, south indian, north indian, continent, healthy and snacky in both veg and non veg.

It’s not about “not liked” , but the light control switches in my suite needs more explanation or “how to operate”. I liked the concept of different control levels of lighting across the rooms, but needs to educated to use it to the best possible way.

We had an excellent breakfast experience thanks to the attentive team. Mohan, who manages the coffee station, was especially outstanding—friendly, warm, and always making sure our cups were full. The restaurant manager also stood out with his constant presence, checking on guests and ensuring everyone felt welcome and well looked after. Truly a delightful start to the day!

They could do more to ensure room service is more prompt. and making sure toiletries etc regularly replenished without the need for chasing etc.
Generally staff attitude and respect was excellent. Food service was also good. A good selection of dishes to try both local and foreign. Price was a bit on the expensive side for laundry and drinks.

Food and laundry prices seem very expensive compared to locality. Daily clean ok, but they didn't seem to change our bedding. Also several occasions toiletieries and shower gel was short. Had to ask to replenish stock.

Message communication through Booking.com was not smooth. My request to pick up from the airport did not go through. Would be better to communicate with the property directly.
