These aren’t things we didn’t like, but more things to be aware of if you are staying in Darjeeling. There are lots of stairs up to Yuma D guest house. If this is a problem perhaps don’t visit Darjeeling though as everywhere is like that! During monsoon season clothes inevitably get damp whilst you’re exploring. We found that our clothes did not dry out again in the room. I think this is due to the nature of the climate and I don’t think it would have been any different if we had stayed anywhere else. Water pressure throughout Darjeeling is poor. The shower is perfectly adequate but not powerful.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the owner. He was able to give recommendations on things to do, and places to eat, as well as advising about the transport and approximate prices you should expect to pay. His wife makes an excellent breakfast too. The room is simple and clean with stunning views if your lucky enough to get a clear day. I would 100% recommend staying here.

The host takes good care of all guests and supports where possible. He recommended us things to do in Darjeeling and also organized a transfer from Bagdogra Airport. It was a really comfortable stay in a well kept homestay. The place itself looks amazing and is located on top of the yuma hotel. This allows to get a great view over Darjeeling and (If the weather is clear) even the Kanchenjunga from the common areas like the roof terrace/garden. The rooms are quite big and we were lucky to have the mountain view from our room as well. The food was also amazing (we had breakfast and dinner) with an absolutely fair price. Located in Laden La Road, you are directly embedded in the lively areas of Darjeeling. We absolutely recommend.

The owner was lovely, very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious and we had an extra duvet, which we needed! The window looks directly onto Kanchenjunga, if you’re lucky enough to be out of the clouds. I think we were on the 5th floor, so not so good if you struggle with stairs, but great for view. We also had access to a beautiful roof terrace, full of flowers.

The TV was not working. We did not bother much though. I feel, they should ensure that the basic amenities are in working condition well in advance, much before arrival of the guests, such that they need not bring it to the notice of the host.

The present experience was pleasant. The entire interior is wooden, & a treat for the eyes. It is difficult to find even a single dot of dirt inside. The terrace with a nicely maintained rooftop garden will never fail to mesmerize you. The Kanchanjungha is clearly visible from the terrace and the room. The host has a charming personality, & the staff are well behaved. Happily recommend.

Yuma D Homestay is a wonderful place to stay in Darjeeling. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the view from the windows is just beautiful. The hosts are incredibly friendly and made us feel like family. We enjoyed the home-cooked meals, which had a lovely local touch. The location is perfect, close to everything, making our stay even more convenient. Highly recommend!

Beautiful property and Dhiraj ji was an amazing host. He suggested best ways to travel in and around Darjeeling. Hot water was available and food was decent. The view from the property is exceptional and on sunny days even Kanchenjunga peak is visible.

We loved staying here. The property is lovely. It's super clean and a delightful place to stay. The owner is very helpful and friendly, and always keen to ensure everything is good. Great views of the himalayas are possible from the property (on a clear day!) Awesome homestay, awesome location, awesome view, awesome architecture & interior. The Homestay owner Mr. Dhiraj is a super cool person and a true gentleman. It is located on 3rd floor of Hotel Yuma. The whole property belongs to the owner of the Homestay. Presently the hotel given is on lease by Mr. Dhiraj. The homestay is a duplex house. 2 rooms are there in the top floor with one suite room and another with direct view of kanchanjungha. There is a pool table & a smoking room with city view & view of kanchanjungha on this floor. The bottom floor is having 2 rooms, dining area, office room & terrace. It is located on the main road to the Mall and just 3-4 mins walking distance from Darjeeling toy train station and 7-8 mins from the Mall. The host was a very helpful person, he recommended us for the way back to Siliguri the drive via Mirik Lake where we got great panoramic views and saw tea gardens. Also we liked the Billard table a lot :)

Stairs !! It's a bit difficult for the aged people to climb all those stairs without taking rest in between..

The location and the property is excellent.. spacious rooms and bathroom... The wooden decor..furtinures...rooftop tea area...garden.. altogether you can get a feel of a heritage bungalow! And of course..the best hosts..Mr Subba nd Mrs Subba .

The homestay and the hosts were extremely welcoming. It was a very comfortable stay with lovely views of the Kanchendzonga (on clear days). The place is tastefully done up and exudes charm & warmth. The location was also just perfect for us with almost everything within walking distance. I loved my cozy little room and the common areas as well. Meals, when asked for, were delicious and the service, gracious. The property was easy to find and everything was exactly as described on the site.
