Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanySmall rooms. For the price, I expected a bit more comfort. Noisy street in front of the building.
Great location right in the center. Nearby free parking. Automated check in anytime. Fully equipped kitchen. It was fairly clean.

CanadaParking, or lack thereof Need a clear statement that this is guesthouse 101 hotel, a different place than guesthouse 101 a few streets away We arrived at the incorrect location to drop off our bags, no email had been received that morning as promised. No one at wrong address answered the bell, another resident let us inside, so we left our bags and went out for the day. Imagine our surprise when we returned, got into email and had received a description and photo of a very different place. All worked out in the end, but other travelers told us they have had similar experiences.

FinlandI would not recommend for longer stays, or if you plan to spend more time in the hotel than just to sleep. My room was on the side of the street so the traffic, especially the buses stopping throughout the night, was noisy. Not soundproof (at least the windows or the door to the corridor) - earplugs necessary. No air conditioning - got quite stuffy in the room.
Convenient location close to the Bus Stop#9. Several restaurants and grocery stores (Bonus is the cheapest) nearby. Good for short stays. The room was what I expected with this price in Reykjavik: had the basics one needs, small, ok bed and pillow, small desk and a chair, good WIFI and enough electronic outlets, sink in the room, shared kitchen, toilets and bathrooms, somewhat noisy. Earplugs needed! The shared kitchen had the basics (fridge, microwave, kettle, dishes etc.). No queues to the shared toilets or bathrooms - but did not spend much time at the hotel. Easy check-in and check-out (keycode). Handy keycode once you figure out how it works (touch the black screen and the numbers light up, slowly enter the digits). Opportunity to get breakfast from the Chinese restaurant below (did not try it).

United StatesWhile there is parking in the streets, you cannot pull up to drop your bags. Rooms are tiny. Bit of a hostel vibe - but a hotel price tag.
Great location, not as pricey as other options - though all is overpriced in Iceland in the summer

CanadaStreet was very noisy, but it is the price for location.
Good value for the price. We needed a room for three adults and found one at 101 Hostel for a great rate by Reykjavik standards. The room was clean, and while the bed was a bit soft, it was perfectly fine for a one-night stay. The location is excellent, with plenty of showers and toilets on the floor. The shared kitchen wasn’t as well-equipped as in some other Reykjavik hostels we’ve stayed at, but it had everything necessary to prepare a simple dinner.

IrelandThere was an old smell in the room, which did not leave even after airing the room. It did not prevent us from sleeping well, however, we could feel it every time we entered the room. The mattresses were a bit too soft and bumpy. We didn't have breakfast at this Guesthouse, but we looked at it and it seemed a bit basic and costed 2,500 ISK (18 EUR). Just across the road, at Center Hotels Laugavegur the breakfast was rich and tasty, we had it there, and it was just a bit more expensive at 3,000 ISK (21 EUR). Yes, everything is super expensive in Iceland. 😂
Clean guesthouse, with shared kitchen, shared bathroom and shared showers, everything clean. Location was great, it is right next to Laugavegur shopping street, 9 min walking to Hallgrímskirkja church and 20 min walking to BSÍ Bus Terminal (where you can take buses to the airport).

BelgiumAccess to the hotel by car is difficult, as there is no parking for unloading luggage in front of / close to the hotel. The parking situation around the hotel is chaotic. There are several parking zones, which have different rules for parking. P3 zone is the most convenient, as the end time for paying is 6 P.M.
The hotel is located close to the city centre, which allows to discover Reykjavik by foot.
