The only property we stayed two nights in. Breathtaking settings, mountains to one side and plains on the other. The family looking after the property were super helpful and even came to assist me in the late hours of the evening.

Just an issue with the door locking, but the host was super efficient and came to sort it immediately.

The cabins are absolutely lovely. Situated with a view onto the mountains and glacier. Super handy just off the ring road and perfect for stop offs or a few days. I would have a stayed a couple more days and enjoyed the bbq if weather had permitted.

The only thing I disliked was having to leave for the airport!

The cottage turned out to be even more perfect and beautiful than we anticipated! Clean, comfortable, spacious… We absolutely loved this stay and I wished we had more time to spend there. Don’t hesitate to book! When we realized upon arrival that there were two twin beds rather than one full bed (totally our own oversight, not the host’s fault) they sent someone over right away to change it for us. Top-tier service. Easy self check-in and out. They also have conveniently posted small signs on the road to help you find the cottages. I highly recommend visiting Vestmannaeyjar (the Westman Islands) while you are in the area!

About the only thing I could say, was that it could use 2 pillows per person instead of one.

Brú Guesthouse was my favorite accommodation of the trip! With our views of Seljalandsfoss waterfall in the distance, glaciers, the Westman Islands and a volcanic crater, it’s a peaceful retreat! The guesthouse was comfortable, clean, and well equipped! I loved this place!

We loved the location. Amazing views! Very close to major attractions Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss Waterfall. Loved that the keys were kept in a lock box so we did not feel rushed to check in.

• On closer inspection, we found personal items from previous guests (lip balm, hair ties) and black hairs on the wall and under the beds, which points to incomplete cleaning. • The notice about the hot water limitation (max. 5 minutes shower time, 1 hour to reheat) seemed a bit off-putting at this price point. • The flat is quite small for four people – manageable for a short stay, but could feel cramped longer term. • The air conditioning system was frustrating: hard to operate, unreliable, and eventually had to be turned off at the fuse box – a major downside.

• Stunning view of Eyjafjallajökull – absolutely breathtaking. • The layout of the flats ensures a high level of privacy. • At first glance, the apartment seemed very clean. • The dishes were spotless, even though there was no dishwasher – a definite plus. • Cooking on the stovetop worked well. • The insulation was excellent – it was stormy and rainy outside, but cozy inside. • Communication with the host was smooth, and we appreciated the 24/7 access via the key locker.

Out on an unpaved road but fairly short access to paved road.

We had to change plans last minute and were VERY fortunate they had a place for us. The square footage area was generous and we were very pleased with the accommodations. The staff, by phone, worked to make it happen on a last minute basis and we were very thankful.

They thought of everything. Arrived at 4am after a long day of exploring and what an oasis. Warm inside, welcoming, and even bathrobes. Serene view with lots of windows, and quiet. Beds super comfortable. Exactly what we needed.

Brú Guesthouse was the most unique and memorable stay during our Icelandic adventure. The views were spectacular, the location quiet, and an easy check-in. The interior had all we needed for a short stay and the beds were very comfortable. We hope to visit again!
