How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Beautiful room with a warm atmosphere. There was a water shut down in town. The staff were immediately there for us and the whole episode was sorted out within less than an hour

nothing - it was great!
Lovely, comfortable guest house in a beautiful town on the Eastfjords. We went in November so the weather was a little wild, but the road to the town was clear. The town is full of beautiful art, gorgeous scenery, and nature! The room was great!

Very nice, comfortable room with bathroom. Everything was clean. The host was very friendly and prepared my room much earlier than general check-in time, which was very appreciated since the weather was terrible that day.

Nice and well situated, less than 10 minutes walk to rainbow road and restaurants. Host was very responsive and self check in was a breeze. This might be the best smelling place we have ever stayed, I actually looked up the diffuser brand and went and got one to bring home! Lots of hooks to hang items in both the room and bathroom. There was a little mudroom with a shoe rack before entering the room so we didn't have to bring muddy shoes in.

You can hear people talking next door through the wall, thin walls in an old wooden house. Not a big problem for us since the neighbours where quiet during the night. Very noisy water faucet.
Nice and cosy, small room in an old wooden house. Tea and real coffee provided. Great shower!

External flight of stairs. Bathroom window needs a curtain. A bit small for people with big bags.
Very clean. Quaint pretty room. Double-aspect windows. Kettle and tea-making facility. Bedding was lovely. Great host.

The window curtains were slightly too small to completely darken the room, and I ended up having to wedge the curtain against the wall with the table lamp. Minor issue.
Great shower and a comfy bed. I messaged the friendly host requesting an extra pillow and had it about 1 minute later! Altogether it was a great stay and I would definitely return anytime I am in Seydisfjordur.

Comfortable room with good amenities. The location was great and getting in was super easy. The key was left for us and we just popped right in. French press and coffee was a welcome touch for waking up. The host provided a list of restaurants and activities, which was nice when arriving late afternoon. The gas station restaurant next door had amazing breakfast sandwich.

Nothing, just longed for a bit more space and a possibility to sleep in the dark😎
A cozy place, ideal for 1 or 2 days. We enjoyed the welcome of the host at our arrival, the French pressed coffee and tee. And the decoration, furnitures, shower and stuff were perfect.

The room is too small for tall people. It is like visiting a friend and you stay in the guest room in a 2 bedroom house.. Some may like it as it can be considered cozy. Unfortunately not for us. Nice furniture but a bit too much. Nice herbal tea but no caffeine free coffee. A nespresso machine wld have been nice in the room. There is no TV in the room. With a score of 9.3 we would have expected better.
We liked the location. It was tidy and clean. The bed was nice. Super shower. We were lucky that the people who had the room next to us did not turn up, so it was quiet next door.

Shower head could have been better pressure but other than that everything was perfect
The room and location was perfect! Great little town that felt majestic nestled between the oceans and mountains. The house was clean, comfortable, and the decor was great! Would absolutely recommend and stay again.
