Location is ok

The staff is not friendly. Even I paid and confirmed via email for 3 beds. She insisted I only put two people when I booked the room and asked to pay for one additional people. Also sharing the small restroom is very inconvenient. Definitely not recommended to anyone, but in general there’s no much choices for hotels in that area.

Clean. Well thought out design. Showers and WC were acceptable

The rooms were very stuffy. The window only opened a few milimeters and there was no fan or other ventilation.

Lovely and quiet

Comfortable, good sized room, shared kitchen was great for cooking basic meals, quiet farm area, easy checkin.

Midgies were a bit annoying, but only on one night, but the host made sure we were aware and how to keep them out. Didn't detract from an enjoyable stay.

The room was a great size with a outdoor seating area and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook for ourselves during our stay. It was just a short distance from Hofn and easy to reach from Route 1.

Pics are no longer up to date, there is another chalet next to the small house. The small house was shared among three couples with a shared small kitchen. The house is relatively new.

The three bedrooms are very close together and one can hear one another. In the kitchen one also has to be very quiet not to wake up or bother the guests in the other two bedrooms. Not ideal to be that close with people you do not know., a bit like in a hostel. When we came back the second day, other guests had dumped all their luggage on the kitchen table and blocked the way to our room with their stuff as well. They seemed to think that was normal but it was a weird, intrusive situation to us. There is no caretaker in the small house, the owner lives in another house, hence, the guests make the rules. There were also quite some dead insects in the bedroom on arrival and the bathroom curtain moulded. The small house that is shared is next to a chalet with another couple of guests and a messy yard of the owners/caretakers. Considering the nearly 220 euro per night, a slightly better quality and privacy was expected.

We stayed at Dilksnes Guesthouse for two nights and had a great experience. The place is super close to Hofn. The building itself is peaceful and quiet, which made for a very relaxing stay. The owner was very responsive and quick to reply to our messages, which we really appreciated. The room was clean, cozy and the suite was well-organized, and had everything we needed. Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Dilkins and felt right at home at this place. Would definitely recommend it!

Great location, clean facilities, and a great spot to see the northern lights! Friendly hosts and an overall great place to stay!

Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Pluto. Communication and checking in were seamless. The kitchen and common area are big. The kitchen is stocked w/cooking amenities along with info on places to see/go/eat in Hofn. The bathroom is spacious. The room was more than enough space for my friend and I. The room and facility are very clean. Without hesitation, I would stay here again.

I wish I had booked 2 days here instead of one.
