Location in the country side---reasonable close to a lot of waterfalls/tourist sites to visit. The room was small, but comfortable.

No clothes dryer, just a washer - clothes line available, which worked but a bit inconvenient. Can hear the people in the apartment above when they walk.

Location was nice, quiet and close to the town for Gas and food options.

The only thing that I did not like was the dog running around the property on the loose. It was annoying and even threatening. I'm really scared of dogs and I didn't feel safe. We were not able to pack the suitcases into the car since the owner wasn't around.

We booked one double bed appartment. It was clean and spacious and included both sleeping and sitting area. The kitchen was fully equipped, so there was a chance to prepare meals. Close to the ring road no. 1 and many other attractions. The owner was polite and super helpful.

I didn’t like how the shower didn’t have its own section. Whenever anyone took a shower, the entire bathroom floor got sopping wet. We stayed in the downstairs (below ground level) and it is possible that contributed to a dampness.

The owner was gracious and opened up the hot tub. The privacy was also nice.

It is located in a farm, hence the room had many many mosquitoes. Although an insect spray is provided, that is not enough for the mosquitoes around. The facility is a bit old , but has all the amenities. Small bedroom, but other rooms were spacious.

Good and peaceful location. Good parking. Good host.

the kitchen is very very basic and only limited cooking amenities provided, since there is no ventilation or hood, if you cook meat the whole room will smell like meat no matter how much you open the windows. The freezer of the fridge is full of mold... The shower room is also quite fundamental, hot water comes fast but the general setting is not what I am used to. The host is not very responsive on the Booking chatting tool and I did not receive the in-person reception/welcome that was promised lol. the dog keeps barking at strangers and can appear a bit unfriendly/scary.

Was ok for us, but need to to be alright on arrival/departure with a vocal dog.

Convenient location after a day around the Golden Circle before setting off on the rest of the Ring Road. Too late to book breakfast on arrival (shame as homemade breads and jams sound lovely), but big supermarket not far away. Review for bigger room than we had booked (studio) due to misunderstanding on arrival of other guests - simple, spacious living area and good kitchen, bed and bedding very warm and comfortable, and a kind host.

The general photos from the main page on booking can be misleading as they give an overall picture of all apartments. The lower apartment is much smaller than the others and does not have the beautiful views from the apartments that are above. Be sure to take a good look at the photos per accommodation option so that you know what you are getting. If I had done that, I would have booked one of the larger apartments situated on the first floor (my own mistake, but i was too late to change it)

We stayed in the smallest apartment under the house. This is not very big, but good for a stay of one or two days. Friendly hostess. The apartment was a bit noisy due to the footsteps from the apartments above (wooden floor), but actually we were not bothered by it (will depend on the other guests though). Good base to explore the area around Vik.

It was a clean and beautiful guesthouse on a quiet place. It makes this wonderful to stay here. You also can use the hottub.

- Guests above us were very noisy with kid dragging stuff over floor late into the evening. - The room was simple and ugly. So was the bathroom with tiny window that couldn't ventilate humidity properly.

No WiFi, no breakfast, no hot tub. The shower is push button that you have to push every 15 seconds to continue the shower. This is fine at the public pool but not fine when you are trying to warm up after being outside all day. The shower empties on the floor of the bathroom so everything will get wet.

Beautiful scenery, owner is nice and her dog is cute. We liked having 2 bedrooms.

Just one thing and it was that the bathroom and kitchen had one common window.

Very nice property for good money. Place was clean, warm even in a bad weather. Well equipped with all amenities you need for a stay. The lady, probably the owner, was very nice and kind upon our arrival and she showed us everything. Definitely recommend this place.

The noise coming through the ceiling from the guests above was really very loud . luckily they settled down after a while . The hot tub was not available for use We asked if our son and his friends could park their van on the property for the night as they were breaking a world record and running around the ring road of Iceland , but the lady would not allow it , which was a shame, so they had to go somewhere else and they were all so tired -it would have been very nice to have them near by .

the apartment was roomy and well equipped and nice and clean . The beds were comfortable and the lady gave us more bedding when we asked for it . it was warm too .

We had a wonderful staying in Fagrahlíd. The location of the guesthouse is amazing, near the ring road and close to every important spot of the area, the view from the apartment was spectacular. The owner is fantastic, she really made us feel at home and she cooked us a rich and tasty breakfast. It was a very wanderful experience, really recommended.

Photos were deceptive. We were in the basement apt. Small but functional. Cooking facilities very limited. Saucepans and fryingpan too large to cook on the 2 ring hob together. Host got us better pot for next day. No toaster, I had to request which then was shared from Unit above, we had to state what time we needed it. Poor ventilation in the bathroom Lots of noise form people walking in the unit above and could hear tv/talking of other guests Hot tub unavailable during our 2 night stay. Told it was being cleaned on 1st n8ght, and host states she didn't know if we would be able to use on second night Not great responsiveness with online communication, and in person the host seemed cold in attitude when I mentioned cooking pots, toaster and asked about hot tub use. Had to leave the key in lockbox when we were out on trips

Some things to note: the TV turned on but no channels worked. Also the WIFI was so slow that it was faster to use without it. For the bathroom, make sure the window is closed because flies and spiders were getting in. (I was bit by a spider and they tried to make a home in our luggage) Also a washrag for the body was not available so you might need to bring one. The shower is extremely small and has a push button that you have to constantly press over and over while showering or the water will turn off. This was a very frustrating feature. Upon arrival, note that you need to park in the super long grass by the side of the driveway closer to the road, and don't pull too far forward because there is a ditch. The owner was not home when we arrived but her daughter greeted us. She was very nice but only explained how to get into the room and use the key box. The room door was wide open for the breeze, so we didn't notice the radiators were on. This is important later. She didn't take our cash damage deposit and said her mother would get it the next day. Note that we did not end up paying this amount the entire trip. Not complaining, just a notice. We did have to ask her how to work the door because unless you flip some little mechanism, it won't lock. The place is exactly as it looks on the website, but the dog is different. The current dog isn't friendly and barks so much just if someone is even breathing near it. The dog will also run circles around your car when you come or go, making it dangerous and nerve wracking to park or drive. The daughter claimed that we could just drive and the dog would avoid us, but she barely made some annoyed huffs and calls in the dog's direction to get it to stop (which it of course didn't). It was more than obvious that no time has been spent trying to train the dog. I am a lifetime dog owner and avid dog lover, and this was extremely annoying and frustrating.

We stayed here in mid-July 2024 for 4 nights in the studio apartment. Prior to arrival the owner was responsive and polite to my emailed questions. We were also pleasantly surprised to have a bottle of wine waiting for us. Overall the room was comfortable, plenty of space for 2 people, and had what we needed to keep some food and make meals.

The bathroom was a bit too tiny, and didn’t offer enough towels. Overall the place could be a bit cleaner, the apartment felt like it was closed for a long time (the air felt stuffy).

The apartment was spacious and well furnished. The owner was SUPER helpful and always available to help out. The location was convenient for the golden circle sightseeing and close to supermarket and restaurants.

One of the most disappointing places we stayed during travelling in Iceland for 9 times. If you stay in the studio, you will hear everything happening above you. You will wake up the time people start to walk there. The owner offered to talk to people staying there but that is not acceptable. It’s not their fault that there is no sound isolation. The shower was only from the top and swimming pool like - the same temperature and had to push the knob every 15 or so seconds. You can use the hot tub till 9 pm. A bit weird knowing that people have long days in Iceland. We were not told this and got remarks at 21:30 although we were not loud or anything. The dog is barking at every car and each time we had to drive, we were scared not to run over her. There was no tea pot the first days and it appeared only 3 days later but nobody told us. The bed is extremely small, you have 25 cm between the wall and the bed, so not comfortable to get in and out. The kitchen towels were all with holes. Everything is quite old and outdated.

The location is great and the surroundings are well kept.
