Such a great place. Quiet, out of the way, close to Hengifoss. The staff were friendly. Spent some time talking with the owner and wait staff and they are such genuine people. Breakfast was excellent and the stay was marvelous.

Everything was just perfect

Nice authentic guesthouse with every comfort you need. Friendly owner and really helpfull staff. Had a great local dinner and excellent breakfast. The quiet area with sheep running around makes it even more special. Excellent to discover Hengifoss and surroundings.

The location in the middle of nowhere is just superb. The gentleman in the reception was really kind and there were 2 lovely doggies to welcome us too! The room was spacious, clean and with some essential stuff in the “kitchen” (kettle, coffee, tea, cups and glasses). The breakfast was really good, in a big dining room with a variety of choices that he cooked himself. Really liked the place! The hotel is only a 5 min. Drive from Hengifoss so don’t miss out!

Beautiful rooms with a nice welcome committee by the two friendly and happy dogs!😇 The breakfast area is awesome and even if we were almost alone with a huge buffet where nothing was missing. The owner furthermore like to share some stories from his life which were highly appreciated👌

We arrived at the hotel late at night and found the main door locked. We had never received any kind of code in advance. Of course, I understand that some check-in desks may close earlier, but literally every other hotel in the world and I travel almost all the time sends the access code beforehand. Not upon request, but proactively. This hotel did not. As a result, we stood outside in the middle of the night, knocking loudly, disturbing neighbors, which we really didn’t want to do. In the end, we had to enter through the back door to get inside. That’s extremely unprofessional and a very poor sign of hospitality. For the future, the hotel should set up a system that works for guests, not against them.

No evening meal option - in order to have dinner you need to drive to a nearby hotel (20 min by car). Breakfast was rather basic, not much choice and moderately tasty (only toast bread, dry scrambled eggs etc). No plastic liners in trash bins in the bathroom and the kitchen.

Cleanliness, comfortable beds, decently sized rooms, beautiful scenery (but in the middle of nowhere).

Excellent breakfast with a selection of hot items like eggs, sausages, bacon, and tiny pancakes. The room was quiet and the bed had the best linens. The host prepared an excellent lamb stew for dinner. There is a fireplace in the dining room for cozy cocktails. Recommend visiting the museum nearby for lunch. Many selections and excellent price!
