Wonderful cozy place with some small points for improvement

The shower was a bit clunky (didn't run through well). Available amenities were a bit limited (only 1 fresh towel for 3 nights, 1 roll of toilet paper - good to bring some yourself). Blinds could be better (bring an eye mask).

Location-wise wonderful, easy to reach, nice surroundings. Beds were comfortable, nice that there was a good working fridge available. Nice quiet place. Easy to arrive at time of convenience. Friendly contact with the host.

it was convenient to seeing the falls to the north and in a quiet location. Close to a small gas station.

There was not much room for toiletries in the bathroom so we moved a few cleaning supplies to make more space.

The room was spacious and we were able to adjust the temperature through opening windows as well as a little heater when it got cool. Shower was great!

It needs a little of TLC. A couple of extra hooks on the wall, a bedside table for the twin room, I used a chair for that purpose.

The location is perfect to go and venture into the Highlands. The cabin is very basic but was clean. It was missing bath towels but when my friend called the owner, he brought them.. It is quiet.

Maybe a bitte small if you have a lot of rainy days, but just perfect for my particular visit.

Gaukshof was just perfect for what I needed. I was travelling alone on a little photo-tour, and since the weather was amazing I spent very little time inside and used my time to explore the country. There are a lot of beautyful sights quite close and Gaukshof is also a very good starting point for trips into the Highlands. It had a fridge, microwave and a little stove top, so everything I needed for breakfast or a easy meal. Central heating was working fine and the shower had warm water. Checking in and out was very easy.

Clean, quiet, convenient and perfect for those who want to adventure and return to a comfy bed.
    • Leisure trip

Two minor things really, nothing that would stop us coming back. It would be great to have a better pillow or extra pillow, and also black out blinds or curtains as the sun rises and shines directly into the large windows early in the morning.

We took a photography trip to iceland, our third this year, and our criteria was somewhere clean with a shower and comfy beds, well positioned in terms of locality to the highlands and Vik, but also somewhere that wasn't unnecessarily expensive with facilities we didn't need. We just needed somewhere to sleep and wash and the cabins were perfect for our needs. They are fairly new and the owner explained they were planning on adding decking which would be great if you wanted to enjoy breakfast or an evening meal outside instead of inside. The cabins are also very close (one road away) to a fuel station and cafe, which, given the quiet location is perfect for topping up on supplies. The cabin has a kettle and a fridge with plenty of electrical plug points to charge up your personal devices (which as photographers we have many).

Nothing important. It would be nice to have a small kitchen as most of the people will usually cook themselfs.

Clean, quite place. Really comfortable bed. Communication with the owner was great.

The only room for improvement that I can think of would be if there were USB wall chargers in case you forgot your own USB charger.

The views from the windows (in the two directions) were awesome. I'll attach a picture. Quick access to the Geyser and Gullfoss.

It was an ok cabin. The best part was that one of the extension cords had outlets to charges our phones without Icelandic adapter. It had a big table to have dinner and to use paper maps to plan.

There is nothing I didn't like. It was perfect for what I needed,

The cabins are the perfect location for many of icelands incredible sights. The cabins are cosy, warm when required and ideal for anyone who needs somewhere to stay on a busy adventure in Iceland. The host is very accommodating and friendly. The facilities are great and it's evident that the host is continuing to make the cabins even better. A perfect location for darkness and capturing the Aurora
