How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Breakfast was not included and shops were several miles away so you need to plan ahead
Room was well equipped and in very good condition. It is in a very quiet location with good views.

I highly recommend a stay at Glaumbær III. Your host, Tua (Þuríður), will warmly welcome you to her home where there is a separate wing of her home with 3 spacious private bedrooms with large ensuite baths (private) — all new. There’s a cheery and bright shared kitchen. Everything was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed sitting out on the back patio in the morning. One of our top stays in all of Iceland (out of 10 stays). There is not much around, but there is a hotel with a very good restaurant and a gas station in Varmahlíð about 6 km from Tua’s home. Great stay!

Everything was perfect really. Wonderful room which was very convenient, clean and new. Common area with everything what we needed. We could have prepared meals without any problems. Nice and helpful owner ❤️

Kitchen is a bit cold.

It was by far the best room of our trip to Iceland! Everything is completely new/renovated. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was also large enough and had a good shower. There’s a shared kitchen available if needed. Wi-Fi works well. Very friendly owners.

It was the best place we stayed on our trip! It is a brand new home (only 3 years old) and a very modern facility. Everything we needed was provided. The hosts live on property and we had the opportunity to meet them. They were so gracious and very friendly.

Honestly everything. The room is spacious, newly renovated and very clean. The bed is comfortable and the guesthouse even has a kitchen, where you can cook anything you want. The owner is an older lady who is very accommodating. Overall, this was an amazing experience and one of the best if not the best accommodation we had in Iceland. Highly recommend!

The only thing I didn’t like was the strong smell in the kitchen, the smell doesn’t get in the rooms, but this was more a problem of not care of another guests rather than the host.
The room is perfect, very comfortable, clean and warm. The host is very friendly, we comment about the aurora and whenn it was starting, she switch off all lights on the house. We will repeat to stay here on the comeback.

The host is a very gentle and kind lady. She keeps the place sparkling clean. The attached bathroom design is sleek and is almost comparable to hotel amenities. It also comes with shared kitchen which is very functional to prepare for breakfast or to cook a simple meal. The house is very near to The Glaumbaer Farmhouse which is a popular tourist attraction. I will highly recommended this place.

The property is really clean and well kept (it is also really new). The room was very spacious and nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything you need to cook a meal (including spices, coffee, etc). The host was really nice! She even let us in the room a bit earlier.

Other guest took our food from the fridge. We only knew about it when we were preparing breakfast and the other guest has left.
The property is easy to find near the main road. The bedroom and bathroom are in good size, clean and tidy. The host kindly helped with the luggage.
