I’m not the type to nitpick, and I actually enjoy writing positive reviews, but in this case, I'm sorry but I can't. Honestly, I think I was generous with the rating compared to what I got. Relative to the standard of every other place I’ve stayed at in Iceland (all together 7) , this one was a real disappointment. I booked a bed in a 4-bed dorm. The room was extremely cramped, had a strange smell, and the door didn’t close properly. every time it opened or shut, it made a loud, unpleasant creaking noise the wakes everyone in the room. The walls were thin, so every sound from outside carried straight in. The ladder to the upper bunks was very uncomfortable and felt unsafe to climb. On top of that, there was no sheltered outdoor space for smoking, which means if it’s raining and you want a cigarette, you literally need to stand outside with an umbrella. Individually these might sound like small issues, but together they added up to a frustrating and disappointing stay.

The location is cool and convenient if you have a car, and the property itself has cozy atmosphere. The common area and kitchen are warm, inviting, and full of character- a really pleasant place to relax and meet other travelers. There’s also a lovely view over the harbor..

There wasn't an actual check-in. Information is posted on walls, but we would have preferred to have engaged with a person. The wood surrounding the sink in our room looked to have water damage; we weren't comfortable using it and instead relied on the sinks in the toilet area. For anyone coming on foot to the hostel with a suitcase on wheels, the path leading down to the hostel is very rough underfoot. The hostel is better suited to guests with a car or motorbike.

Beautiful views over the fjord from the dining area. Availability of tea and coffee. Friendly welcome from the guy who serviced the rooms. We arrived early on the ferry and were able to leave our luggage at the hostel until check-in time (2 pm).

The hostel is located close to everything, right along the fjord and features excellent views, especially from the shared dinning room, which will immediately leave you impressed. The dorm was warm and comfortable. Self check in system in place. The kitchen was truly fully equipped and all the shared areas are great for socializing.

it was easy to find it as the confirmation email had clear direction. The room is very simple and was not too many space after open 2 big suitcase but we managed it. common area in the building was all tidy and very well equipped.

Booked for a double, but they accidentally had us down for a single so one pillow, blanket and towel. When I text to advise they did take sometime to send someone over so we had dinner first in the common area and then someone came. Staff was very friendly.

Cute and quaint little hostel. Only a few rooms and spacious common area. Other guests were all lovely. Good location to get to, if you have a car. The town itself is very small but the hostel was great for a night stopover. Plenty of fridge space.

Beautiful location, best views, a beach to swim from, a wintergreen dining hall to dream in, super friendly staff (who let me check in earlier as I had to work a bit and use their wifi/coffee machine ;–) and all-round peaceful and tasteful place!

There were two showers that both didn’t drain well. Also a big window in the shower room without a curtain. It was difficult to tell if someone was using them or not without some sort of indicator/sign. There could be some improvements made there.
