Reviews of Hotel Höfn 3 stars

Rooms in the main building seemed to be significantly larger and nicer than those located in the other buildings on site. Family ended up with a room the size of a college dorm and without any heat. We had a completely different experience in the main building where the room was larger and things were better taken care of.

The entire bathroom gets wet when taking a shower. I’d recommend a pair of sandals for bathroom use after someone takes a shower.

Location was good and peaceful. The dinner Restaurant was good although the pizza was rather burnt. My lamb dish was very good.

There was no elevator so one needed to carry suitcases upstairs. Breakfast buffet was good but a little crowded.

Convenient location

It was expensive for 2 basic rooms. The breakfast was overpriced as they ran out of tea, plain yogurt and the selection was poor for the price.

We stayed here for a brief night in Höfn but were met with a nice and comfortable room after a long day of travel. They accommodated our request of having separate twin beds.

There was a massive fly in our room upon arrival that we had to kill with a flip flop. The decoration and materials in the hotel room felt a bit cheaply made and the bathroom floor got pretty wet since there wasn't a physical division between the shower and the rest of the bathroom aside from the shower curtain itself. It would have been nice to have breakfast included but the pricing was a bit egregious so we opted to get it on the road instead.

Good location

The room was clean but heavily fragranced, and mold was growing on the walls of the shower. Very small bathroom. The mattress was saggy and uncomfortable. Our stay was fine, but we would choose elsewhere next time.

Excellent location and delicious breakfast

Over $500 for one night for a tiny room, with paper thin walls, and a smelly wetbath that I refused to shower in.

Overpriced compared to other hotels we stayed in - for example it was double priced as was the Hotel Geysir which was, however, uncomparably better.

The property is in a lovely area by the bay and there’s a great little path close by. You can walk easily around the town from the hotel to restaurants. Room view was nice and bed comfy. It is a basic hotel

Unfortunately my bathroom had some mould on the walls The bathrooms are very small I could hear noises from the next door rooms through the walls There is no lift so be aware if you can’t carry your suitcases up potentially 3 stairs The hotel was very overpriced for what it was I just stayed the night as I did book late and really needed a place to stay and everything seemed to be booked in town.

Lovely restaurant on site. Hotel located by the sea. Nice decoration and very functional and welcoming. You walk directly to the port along the seafront.

Centrally located in Hofn, close to the water. Clean rooms, good breakfast, friendly and helpful service.

Friendy and helpful staff, beautiful location (right by the water), easy parking, and comfortable beds.
